I saw a few at ThinkGeek the other day too but I managed to get mine for about $10 less than the normal retail.

Reminds me of my Army days doing road marches. Tall guys in the front so my short self had to run every so often to keep up with the pace!

All dark and mysterious! -
You've come to the right place! Looking forward to seeing your WIP

It's more possible than Mudtrooper but either way, it's R1 style armor.
-
Yep, already planned on correcting that and the damn blue on the pack.

Depends on the style you have. Some are stiff. Mine is a cloth one and I hardly notice it's even there. Some guys have the big neck seals with bibs built in.
-
I would go as far saying a 3/4 sized shield should be made or whatever to fit the hat without going down to the brim.

I'd lean towards Coyote color. I'm notoriously cheap though and still might end up using what I already have though.

Duden15s RS Propmasters/TM Sandtrooper WIP
Airborne Trooper replied to Duden15's topic in Sandtrooper Armor
Looks good just gotta raise those forearms up like you said. The bottom of your biceps should be above the bend in your inner elbow and the forearms should be just below. You look like you have long arms so unfortunately you'll have a bit of a gap but I suppose that's better than what us short guys have to deal with and have even less arm mobility. -
A Sandtrooper in the making...my WIP.

Right combination of audio/fans/hearing assist

Two fans blowing up at my face, 2 in the rear blowing down as an exhaust. Wireless mic velcro'd in place and overkill big batter pack in the rear. I have my fans paired up as left and right on switches so I can cut both or only one side off if I wanted to which I never do though. They are then spliced into a USB cable that goes into the power supply. I'm considering ditching the bracket as my helmet is really pain in the ass to put on and take off and my face usually smashes against the front right fan. I'll have to figure something out whenever I'm bored. -
I usually go for 4 hours or more but since I already can't sit, it takes its toll after a while. When I do my next pack upgrade, I'm thinking about hollowing out parts that aren't seen when worn to shave some ounces.
-
I learned at my troop a few weeks ago that It's ok to take the pack off for a while. All day troops in kit make it where you need to take breaks and also walk around a bit without the pack on. No shame in it IMO. I prefer the look with it on better but my shoulders get sore after several hours.

I'll have to dig out my multicam colored boonie and see what it looks like. I have an extra rank chevron patch but not an extra MEPD. I could use one of my spare MEPD Command patches though.
-
Your armor should be fine for level 1 Mimban but for anything higher, you really need R1 style armor. I'm looking forward to that CRL to come together.
-
Welcome to MEPD, Jeff!

SOLO - Mimban Trooper CRL Development

Scroll up, John posted the card with the pack. What's interesting is the pack strap is still woodland cammo and not dyed black like R1. The alice pack bag is like a khaki color. Could be a continuity issue to make the cards, but we won't know until the movie comes out to compare.
