Did any of you guys notice that there is 2 types of BoyScouts backpack Frames? - One frame has more bars across - and a thin bar across the bottom "step" that holds the pack's weight - and the second type has only 1 center bar across the back and a thick bar across the Bottome "step" that holds the pack's weight. On your pack Mike - you have that thin bar on the bottom - on mine, that bar is thick like the ones that run across your back in the center of the pack. Thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

Hello, I had 2 packs that I sold on ebay about 4 or 5 years ago - both needed to have a box made because of the size - and both needed to have the "Mortar Pipe" removed for packing. I will be going through the same problem soon too - I have an extra Marco Entertainment backpack that I'm going to sell on ebay. Thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

Mini stormtrooper armour (update page 8)

Really cool work. Nice job! Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net -
Hey Guys, I have SDS armor - the strips came down all the way to the bottom edge (of the upper leg armor). So I cut the strips down, and sanded them untill they were gone - then I added the part line (with and exacto knife) to make the armor look more like ANH. If these were the original molds (which I don't think) - He cut the front ends of the lower half of the upper leg armor (where you knee is) to be flat. See my pictures below. Was there strips on the backs of the upper legs and on the middle and lower arm amor? Thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

Hey guys, Did anyone ever notice that the trooper armor became simpler from ANH to Return of the Jedi. I'm not talking about the basic Stormtrooper but really the off shoots. For example; The Snow Trooper wore a lot less armor and so did the Scout Trooper and AT-AT driver. The imperial guard wore like no armor - except the helmet. Both the Snow and Scout troopers also used a lot of white in there uniforms to create the allusion of armor that is actually not there. I think they made these uniforms with less plastic armor because the actors had to hard of a time moving in the Standard Stormtrooper Armor. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

ANH movie strapping revealed- please enjoy.

Dear All, First of all Matt - You said about the hamburger Stacker that - "I've been to LFL - I DON"T THINK I KNOW" - Now your backpeddling. I think the Hamburger stackers are like the Boy Scouts Backpack Frames - They could work pretty good and look close - But they are not the Real McCoy. So is your strapping a guess or are you saying you know? Because like the Hamburger stacker - I say your guessing! Thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net -
Thanks Mike, Very cool - I'm going to make one myself. thanks, jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

Dear Mike, Is your antenna - from bottom to top - the Master Plunger (ribs) - the main body - the 1 inch PVC pipe, and the top the part from the vacuum hose? Do you know the name (company) of the vacuum hose and is that the top connector of the hose? Your antenna looks great. thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

He Mike, how did you make your antenna? Thanks Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

Hey guys, I have a suggestiong for bending the Boy-scouts backpack frame smoothly. If you can get a very Thick PVC pipe 3" or 4" - a Wood Dowl around that thickness - you place it in the center of the backpack frame - across from right to left side. The top half of the frame will will have to secure to the table that it is lying on. If done on a work bench you could secure it down by nailing 2"X 4" across the metal fame tubes to hold it in place and secure. The Dowl or Thick PVC Tube across the center (below the frame) represents where the frame will bend and rap around the tube. At this point it will look like a Teeter Totter on you work bench - one end secured down and the other up in the air - with the Dowl or Thick PVC tube below the frame in the center spanning across from right to left. On the opposite side you can either try to force it down by hand slowly or secure a piece of wood on that end and hammer it down to make the bend. The Size of the Thick PVC tube or Wood Dowl represents the size of what the bend will be - Example 3" very Thick PVC Tube will make a 3 inch bend - so when you are finished the top and the bottom of the frame will be touching the table flat and the center would be 3 Inches up in the air making a somewhat pyrimid shape (for a lack of a better explanation). Dear Paul, the armor looks awesome - I have been putting my dollars away for it when it's available. thanks, jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net

Dear Rob, Did you make the basic harnest (with out the armor attachment straps) or did you buy it - if so what is it called and where did you buy it? It looks great and is a good idea. Thanks, Jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

If you look close up on the top of the left side tube - the top part looks like a knob of some sort. Thanks, Jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

Dear Mike, Thanks for putting those pictures up. jack vartuli redfox@optonline.net

Hi guys, I don't know if any of you have the original Star Wars Trilogy DVD set. It came with a 4th DVD (Star Wars Trilogy Bonus Material) that was a documentary and had production photos from the movie. If you got to the production photo's section and click on ANH, there is a picture of an actor (who is a sandtrooper) off camera talk to George Lucas. In this photo you see a good shot of the Left side Backpack Tube and how it's held on - Looks like 2 pieces of wire. The top also looks like a knob of some kind. If anyone knows how to capture this picture and put it up it would be helpful. Thanks, Jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

If you got to the production photo's section and click on ANH, there is a picture of an actor (who is a stormtrooper) off camera taking a break Wearing only his upper and lower leg armor and shoes. It appears to me that he has a belt around his waist that is holding them up. If anyone knows how to capture this picture and put it up it would be helpful. Thanks, Jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

I don't know if that's correct but that's an interesting and good way to do it. Thanks, Jack

I don't know but it seem to me that the White strap looks buckeled to the black strap coming out of the crotch area to the upper leg. Kind of like it is looped and coming back. Does anyone else see what I'm talking about? thanks, Jack Vartuli Redfox@optonline.net

I notice that armor in the box - the ridge is very sharp almost a corner edge. On most armors out there that edge is way more rounded. The shadow compounded with the sharp edge definatly created the illusion of seperate pieces. Thanks for helping out with the photo's. thanks, Jack Vartuli RedFox@optonline.net
