  1. Pardon my stupidity ... But what is the Dirty Dozen?
  2. Do they have to be round or square, or can they be a more customized shape?
  3. I went with the dull ABS and painted it. I think the PVC was too shiny. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jjmcclear/sets/72157627714706850/
  4. I had an AP kit initially... and tried the whole iron on the edge thing... it never worked very well for me.
  5. R2 Dan made me some strapping brackets. They used the same rig on the screen used suits.
  6. I would have butted it up against the rivets.
  7. What kind of suit is it? I would say the torso parts should have a return edge. The top of the thighs, and shins should also... The arms would vary on the original suits, including the shoulder bells. But It all depends on what your'e going for as far as your armor status, and accuracy. Here is a collection of armor images that I've gathered over the years, maybe they will help? And here is my RS Props armor build as well. I tried to get it as close to screen accurate as I could. 8. I bought all my elastic strapping from Joanne Fabrics. Most of it is 1" wide except for the thighs (3"), forearms (2") and shoulders(2" and a 1/4").
  9. I unfortunately had to sell it... Just can't afford to do the TD thing right now. But the next pack will be even better! I have a pair of them for sale here They are crashmann's trays.
  10. R2Dan gave me this info: M3 screws, 6mm long, 8mm will do, too, depending on material thickness - 10mm is way too long though
  11. No biggy! End caps too! I've since cleaned up the vac form tool, but this is the only photo I have on hand: Here's the TK version, featured on one of my custom built detonator kits.
  12. Just thought this was good info to pass along. This article was posted on Rebelscum.com eBay Today: Save Your Money On Identities Poster Posted by D_Martin on December 16, 2011 at 03:39 AM CST (Published early to save you money) Usually we want to draw your attention to cool items currently being offered in our eBay Today stories, but... We encourage you to not bid on them, as they will become available through the exhibit for $20 each (and they'll be far from limited to 100 prints). We'll keep you posted on their availability.
  13. I would take it apart, and glue it back together from the inside first. Use a strip inside as well as the outside. Just do the inside first though. Do you use rare earth magnets to clamp down parts when gluing them together? If not, I would recommend it highly. Also gat some hand clamps for the ends, to help keep everything together while the glue dries. Also, make sure you cuts are straight. If they curve, it will be harder to lineup the edges.
  14. I KNOW!! But this was one I couldn't pass up. It's by far the best helmet I've ever owned.
  15. Good for you! I started with the same kit as well... It was a total nightmare! LOL! But it turned out ok in the end. I wish there was a job where you could just build stormtrooper helmets all day. *sigh* SiMan Helmet #13
  16. Made some changes... I added a few subtle details, made it wider. Should be a bit more accurate than before. I have a 3D print quote for $700... it's a the best quality I can get, while keeping it under a grand. I would like to keep the casting under $100... Hopefully I can sell more than 7 castings. Here's the latest version of the model.
  17. contact mike at Trooperbay. He makes me stuff all the time. J
