  1. This is from the 501st facebook page... is the surprise the letters? Or is it the awful looking yellowed FX right in the front row?
  2. Crap. I can't for the life of me find the photo on F-book of the 501st group shot with buckets off. All the TDs with T-21s had their helmets on the barrels in the air. Totally badass. Anyone get a close up of that? The MEPD group photos are a breath of fresh air. Looking great! Aloha, -Eric
  3. You know... I might very well be wrong about the return edge for a TD bell... at least not for all... check this out from the bluray bonus material: However... move along looks like his bell sits flat on the bicep. Aloha, -Eric
  4. Looking good dude.... Here's a good shot of the curve of the knee pack. Looks like you nailed it. And here are some non Sandy reference photos for knee pack placement. Oh and a handful of sandy screen caps... but not enough/all. By TK standards your knee pack should be lowered a bit so that the fastener is in the bottom ridge of the thigh. I'm not sure what the MEPD standards are (but they're generally more strict than the clean white world) but over on FISD we require for Centurion that the fasteners that hold the knee ammo pack (whatever its called) be a cap or split rivet with a flat head with no hole in them. You could fill in your rivets or redo with plit rivets. I'm pretty sure the shoulder bells had very little return edge on screen used suits. They sit nicer over your bicep if you trim them. Here's a photo from the lucasfilm archive (the bell on the left) of an actual bell: Aloha, -Eric
  5. I just reflexively slapped my knee and laughed. Classic.
  6. As time goes on my aker speaker slides lower and lower toward my crotch plate. I keep it around my neck on the annoying strap it comes with. To keep it away from the mic to reduce feedback it basically sits behind my ab plate. Not so comfortable but I enjoy harassing people. I choose to be understood over comfort. I have Velcro stuck to the entire back my icomm and it sits in my back plate. I have a fair amount of Velcro lining my back plate to be able to easily place it without much thought. I found all the wires and stuff to be too annoying to put much in my chest even all bundled nicely with zip ties. Putting it all in the back plate allows for only one wire to go to the amp in front if I'm not using an mp3 player for chatter. Aloha, -Eric
  7. I think the server migration has gone well... some folks may still hit the old server for a while but that should end in a few hours. Please let me know if anything seems off or you see any errors. Aloha, -Eric
  8. Has anyone seen Mike's pauldron up close yet? http://trooperbay.com/shoulder-pauldron/ Looks nice but I'm curiuous if anyone has seen/worm it in person yet? If so what do you think? (answer knowing that Mike does log in here regularly) Aloha, -Eric
  9. Dearest TDs and TDs to be, The MEPD.net forums will be offline starting Thursday August 16 from about 1100 EDT to... hopefully not too many hours after that. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions before or after the downtime. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Aloha, -Eric eric@hawaiianseamonkey.com
  10. It was a mix... some painted... some not... here are some that are not painted:
  11. I saw Stevie Wonder at Mogehan Sun and I'd say it has more to do with the sound system there than anything. I'm not a huge Stevie fan but I was pretty darn blown away and the sound quality had a lot to do with it. Lucky ******* btw. Aloha, -Eric
  12. Hmmm I'm not sure what it would be either. Tapatalk, safari iPad, mac safari, iPad chrome, Mac. Chrome all work for me. I dont see anything wrong with your user. Let me know if you want your password reset. Aloha, -Eric
  13. We haven't worked it out with the hosting company. My guess is within the week or so? If all goes well it will be brief. Less than 12 hours at the most. Si! (I assume) That's up to the staff of MEPD but it may be a while until we figure out who owes what. I would suggest a yearly pledge drive a la PBS.....MEPD tote bags and all. Do not fret. The account will be paid for even if MEPD as a whole can't/won't/doesn't pony up... there's no way any of the sites we host would disappear because they didn't pay. Although.... I did threaten LDR the XO of the Sith Lords that there was a chance that a few boys clad in shiny white tupperware might appear at his doorstep aiming their E-11's at his kneecaps. Hopefully he won't have his Vader shins on when they start swinging. Aloha, -Eric
  14. Nope. The boards will remain free... but if you are so compelled when the time comes... a donation of any size to keep the site running would do your karma some good. Aloha, -Eric
  15. You folks can stay on the web server provided you do something about all that dirt and crud all over your armor. Make with the hose and a scrub brush and Paul won't disable your hosting account. = I am uncharacteristically optimistic this move will have minimal impact on all the sites that host here. My liver may not survive, but the forums will carry on. Please let us know if you have any questions at all. Aloha and thanks for your patience, -Eric
  16. You don't know the half of it Remind me not to upgrade all of the ip board sites we host at once, and also move another one from the old server at the same time. Someday I'll learn LOL -Eric
  17. Put down the booze buddy... you're seeing double! (I have no idea how I caused that... but I'll try to fix ASAP) Aloha, -Eric
  18. Veddy interesting. Thx. Hopefully the new board software will help. Aloha, -Eric
  19. Well crap. I copied the mail settings from FISD and I tested it by using the forgot password link. Maybe the forum upgrade will fix it. At the very least the latest ip board has a little email tester thing built in. Can someone send me a PM? (maybe post a pm sent here too) Thanks for your patience. Aloha, -Eric
  20. Funnily enough things like new posts were taking way too long because email notifications weren't working. I thought I fixed the email and the site got faster... But it wasn't until tonight that I put the right IP number in the ip board settings. Not only will new posts be faster... PM notification should be working again. Feel free to email me or Daetrin (who can hunt me down on FISD) if things on the server see off or broke. Also... I'm probably going to upgrade IP board sometime this weekend. It won't take long. Aloha, -Eric
  21. I'm using an iPad happily. Anyone still having problems with their apple devices? Aloha, -Eric
