  1. It also comes down to do you want something that has some tie to an original suit, or something that was totally fan-sculpted? Also, some people want a piece only for display. Other people are going to put wear and tear on it by trooping around in it. I was criticized for velcroing my handguards, but it sure makes it easy to pull them on and off when I'm trooping.
  2. In all honesty, I'd have a TE suit right now instead of a GF if it wasn't for Jez' site. However, I'm totally happy with it and now own both.
  3. I've been wondering about this, just never asked. Do sandtroopers have a strip with three buttons glued on top of the ab-plate with the groove showing underneath? Are the buttons bigger than a stormtrooper's?
  4. I would think he doesn't do that because not all the photos were taken by him.
  5. Cool Tony! However, I can pretty much tell by your photos that you are cranking out some good stuff! Let's get this party started! I would be interested to see how mine compares to yours. The legs are basically hollow tubes, so I just figured fill them with clay and smooth it out. Here's some educational , mg-34 bipod pics I put together for the rest of you guys: http://www.heycomputer.com/mg34/bipod.html
  6. My mg-34 is ready to be immortalized in resin. I'm just waiting until Tony gets a breather from holidays and all his other projects. It is still in the shipping box because I don't want to have to repack it. LOL! Do you know what kind of torture that is? To have this cool toy and not be able to play with it? LOL!
  7. Just read the pdf. Wow, he pretty much did it all. I'm glad he decided the best color material to get was white!
  8. I think it is just a piece of corrugated cardboard painted white to replace a missing plate.
  9. No! You have one of the most uber-accurate suits out there, but it isn't made out of the correct material. Application denied.
  10. that is a very bad spot for splitting.
  11. The helmet seems a bit blocky and it should be white.

  13. so sad that you spend so much money on something that you have to take apart to make right. good luck bro.
  14. I'm checking out the witch. oh, nice armor!
  15. The canvas straps on mine snap to the back plate and are velcroed to the inside of the chest plate. That way, there is plenty of room for adjustment if needed. And the armor weighs next to nothing, so the velcro will hold forever. I also have two vertical strips of elastic with velcro on the ends that pull the back plate down to the kidney plate to eliminate any gap. I just reach back there, fish the straps out from under the kidney plate, pull them up and attach them to the back plate.
  16. there's always a toss-up between accuracy and comfort
  17. Didn't Mark say he got screwed or something? Business deal gone bad? I've got a pair of his latest boots and they are WIDE. I'd get at least a half size lower than what you normally wear.
  18. Thanks!! Those are some beautiful shots. Wish they were higher resolution, but these are still good.
