    Ha!

Oooh, you broke the lawwwwwww. Dumpster diving is illegallllllllll. I'm gonna telllllll. j/k, sweet find, man.
  3. Don't think we need it for that yet but I'll keep it in mind if things ever decide to go south.
  4. Just an update: I just read on another board that a member there used oven cleaner to remove the old paint from his slot car bodies. You can maybe try that method to remove the bad paint. If it can be used on the thin plastic that those are made of, it should be okay for ABS shouldn't it? Anybody know more about this before I ruin this guys armor?
  5. So are you going to go sandy now because of this? If not, I'd just take your time, sand everything down, clean the armor, and start fresh with a different paint. The important thing is don't get flustered. If you do decide to go TD, you can always save up and get another suit to do a TK. Especially with the new 1/2 price PVC AP.
  6. That is what I was thinking of using. It holds well?
  7. They are inside the armor, underneath the ribbed pieces if you are a normal TK but by themselves if you're a TD. Pic by TM:
  8. Looks great! You could always sell the FX helmet to someone with gigantism. *post not meant to offend those members of the giant community*
  9. Looks like you had a "hot chocolate" drinking mishap. Awesome job!
  10. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that it's an AP. I've only used the ABS cement (WELD-ON brand) that comes with the FX kit before. Is the Devcon something I should really have to upgrade to for this? Thanks Mike.
  11. All those who assembled their suits "strip-style", I have a question: Has anyone ever popped their ABS strips putting their shins on? Mine are only taped together right now for test-fitting but I have to bend my shins open a fair bit to get my calves in them after I put my boots on. I'm thinking of using a strip of thick white vinyl on the front of my calves instead of the ABS so they have some give. Do you think this is a good solution and will it look okay?
  12. Somebody stop that TIE pilot from stomping that baby!!!! Oh, the last time I trooped was at the Brandon Toys-R-Us last month.
  13. Yeah, you'd think shelling out for the extra strips would've put them further over budget. That was a joke, BTW.
  14. I think Han used the scanner, but I love that thing too.

    lucas molds!

So he could have been misled about their origins.
  16. Wow, Mike. You're slipping! I think the handbacks were glued on to the gloves. They do have an awful lot of black scuffs on them that make them look like they are part of the gloves but they could just be made of black silicone or something. This theory would seem more practical than making two molds of a set of hands just for gloves don't you think. Quite a few handbacks look to be different sizes, also. (Han's hero suit, for instance) The rough-looking trooper in all the ANH promo shots has backwards handbacks, too.
  17. The ends of the forearm joints will need to be cut off square to each other because they stick out too far. This probably happened during the supposed modifications to the molds by GF,AP or whoever. So what I'm trying to say is that the pointed ends will need to be cut off square to each other.
  18. The best way I've found to separate parts that have been hot-glued is to put them in the freezer for a bit. It makes the glue brittle and just pops off with a little twist of the armor. I have had to do this a few times on the legs as my weight has fluctuated. It might ruin your weathering because of condensation, though.
  19. To the bone!?! Hope it just sounds worse than it actually was.
  20. I was there when he did the stunts and he said he split his knee. If he meant his knee plate or his actual knee, I'm not quite sure. As for the concern over this, no one got hurt (seriously) and everyone was fully behind it. Would have been more appropriate if he would have been in biker armor though. At least now we know why all the shopping carts at ENDORMART have that goofed-up wheel.
