  1. Oh, you mentioned adjusting the shoulder pouch. I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but I know some of the guys have moved the little tool-kit pouch in more toward the center of the pouch itself for more screen accuracy. It also seems to help reduce the dangling effect. Again, great work! The weathering really did turn out well. Cheers!
  2. Looks fantastic, Brian! Have a great time trooping CV! I'll bet you're glad you caught the weakness in the right shin ahead of time.
  3. Yeah, I've used that as a reference guide more than once!
  4. Rolf still has some really good illustrations in post #29 of Page 2. Again, fantastic work, Rolf!
  5. Check out Rolf's thread here: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=6459 He's got a great breakdown on page 2. (Awesome work, Rolf!)
  6. Rolf, I'm glad to hear continued good reports. I'm sorry you have to go through this in the first place. I have a 20 month old with my wife of 4 years, and I can't imagine having that broken apart. I'll keep praying for peace between the two of you, and that God would begin mending the scars. All the best, brother.
  7. Welcome, Stuart and Matt! This truly is an excellent forum. Everyone's really helpful and willing to share knowledge. I've been gleaning info here for the past few months. Great bunch of guys, here. No dramas like on many of the other forums. Welcome, and good luck!
  8. That's right, Gordon. (In your best drill instructor voice) "You'll SLEEP with that weapon!" "You DROP it, you FOLLOW it!" "Unattended weapons WILL be confiscated!"
  9. I don't have any yet, and I'm not quite at the stage I'll need some at the moment. Here are a couple sources to check out. You could also post a query in the FISD forum. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=12067 http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=2819&hl=t-track&st=0 That first link might be worth checking out as a good option for non-rubber t-tracks. (Interesting note: apparently the screen-used versions had plastic t-tracks, not rubber.) I'm not sure what the current supply status is for that second link. You might have to give him a holler and see what he says. I keep thinking I saw another source for rubber t-tracks somewhere, but these should give you a good launching point. Hope that helps.
  10. Looks good, man! Nice work! Will you be getting t-tracks for the barrel? I've been planning a scratch built DLT-19, too, but I have to finish my E-11 first.
  11. Sweet! Thanks for posting these! They make great reference pics.
  12. Hey, a quick question for those of you who have posted seated pics above: Have all of you separated your cod from your ab piece, or have some of you kept them unified? Though I'm still in the researching/planning phase, I'm currently torn between the accuracy of keeping it a single piece vs. the functionality of separating it. Is that a big factor in this subject?
  13. Looks fantastic, Henrik! Truly top notch work. Looking forward to seeing this kit completed!
  14. Nol, sorry I missed this reply (a month and a half ago!). Thanks for the welcome, and the warning. Funny you should say that... I'd mentioned wanting to work on a TB first. Well, I've kind of changed gears, and I'm hoping to get into a TD before the summer's up. There were a couple factors which influenced my decision: Not only is the TD probably the coolest screen used Imperial uniform, but the MEPD has really helped push me over the fence. I think this is the best community out of the major 501st armor communities I've come in contact with. Little to no bickering, no god-complexes, extremely helpful and supportive members and staff, tons of pride, and a very close-knit crew. This, to me, reflects highly on the character types who are attracted to the MEPD, as well as the leadership which has fostered this atmosphere. Good on ya, Mike and Noel. This is a crew I can see myself being a part of. You're truly the best of the best. Thanks, gents.
  15. I was actually thinking about this, too. I used to work on military radars of the 1970s vintage (the USMC is the red-headed step-child of the Dept. of Defense--everything is hand-me-down junk!), and there were control dials on there which were backlit. The bulbs were really small, hard to replace, and were known to go out. If the shine-through area happened to get painted over, you might not even know it was there. Those radio dials seem like they might be similar, but I've never seen one in person. Also, if there is, in fact, green plastic behind the dial, it might indicate that was the shine-through portion to give the dial a glow. Just food for thought, and fuel for debate.
  16. The link worked for me. Fantastic writeup! Lots of mental notes taken for my first troop... coming... someday...
  17. Though I can't personally attest to having done it either way (still planning a TD...), I definitely agree with both sides of this story. Personally, I feel there should be no mandate to do it any particular way, but I'll be taking garrison mates' styles into consideration when I get to mine. I do think it'd be that much more effective if sandies within a garrison or squad at least seem like they fit together. There's my uneducated opinion.
  18. Looks great, Sean! I really like your "first stage of weathering". It's obvious you're putting a lot of thought into it. Cheers!
  19. Man, that's a VERY nice piece of hardware!
  20. Fantastic pauldron work! You made it look easy.
  21. Great writeup, too. Those pics posted on your mate's site were really good. It's nice to have someone do such a good job photographing an event. I'm looking forward to the time I can participate in a trooping event, as well. Cheers!
  22. Haha! "Here, sir. Hold this." Sounds like it was a fun event, and it went well. Who could ask for more?
