  1. I'll be there. Back pack should be done by then. Sounds good about Anthony Forest
  2. Didn't like it. Better than the previous 3 though. Positives: acting - Garfield did a good job as PP Spidey poses that looked straight out of comics Negatives: movie was too slow lizard CG wasn't very good Spidey always taking/getting masked ripped off weak plot/motive for lizard convient 'stuff' in the plot - like 17 year old Gwen working for a corporation and welcoming college age interns (to name one) I'm already bored just thinking about it all over...
  3. Didn"t know it was that bad up there. That's a rough way to live - or survive - until normalcy returns. Especially with the heat! Good to hear people were helping out instead of going crazy. Glad to hear you made it through.
  4. Great job - always enjoy your builds and attention to details
  5. Cushman doesn't have.a good rep around here - better to save your money and go Hyperfirm. Search around on the forum here to learn about Cushman and Hyperfirm (sci fire)
  6. Yeah elastic is accurate. Here's how I did my shoulder straps - one single strap (just one way to do it)
  7. Cut a piece of cloth (I use canvas from the belt) a little bigger than the area you want to strengthen and soak the cloth in E6000. Lay it on the area (inside of helmet of course). Once it fully dries it will reinforce weak areas. I've used that method on a couple weak areas of he helmet and armor and it works great.
  8. Don't know about this particular build, but the diamond does appear too low
  9. Did the camera wash out the weathering on your upper chest and arms? Looks very clean compared to the rest. Other than that looks good!
  10. Cut a piece of cloth (I use canvas from the belt) a little bigger than the crack and soak the cloth in E6000. Lay it on the crack (inside of helmet of course). Once it fully dries it seals cracks and stops it from continuing to crack. I've used that method on several small cracks and chips in my armor and it works great.
  11. I see what you are saying Nick, but I have to agree with Bluey. Maybe it is the 'instant answer' universe we live in that makes people just want immediate answers. There is SO much info here on this forum, I am still amazed by it! When I decided to go TD I just started reading everything and used the search function here. All my questions were answered that way - I didn't have to ask anything. So I doubt anyone can stop all the generic questions - someone will always post a question that is already answered somewhere in this forum. Just have to refer people to the search function which is one of the best tools on here IMHO. Maybe move the MEPD Officer Training thread to a more prominent sub forum, or label it specifically under the Barracks sub forum.
  12. I found everything I needed on Krayt forums. Can you see the CRL? That lists exactly what is needed for the costume. Here's a pic of me and my wife - she now has the ion balster, holster, and power pack (flask). For that robe I used dark brown and wine - but I don't remember the exact amounts. The first robe I made was straight brown. But after looking at movie jawas I went back to Krayt and searched the forums and found a good color mix, which is what she is wearing in the pic. The vest I modeled after ANH jawas - just paused the movie in several places to get an exact look. http://
  13. Just do a search here for Spanish pouch or look in the Pouches section of the forum. The info is there - I would toss the link up here but I'm on my cell and can't do it.
  14. I dyed my shoulder pouch in Rit dye. I used a bucket filled with water, added dye, and then submerged the pouch. After that I left it outside for about 2 weeks to get it weathered. The sun faded the black nicely.
  15. My pack is done (just not weathered). I used 1" nylon for the shoulder straps and then sewed some plush foam material onto those straps where it will sit against my shoulders - that reduces the cutting into feeling. I also used a chest strap, sewn into both shoudler straps. I sewed a clip into that strap so that I can clip it together and then tighten (or loosen) that chest strap. When it is tight it pulls the shoulder straps more into my chest and that also helps with getting any cutting in the shoulders. This strap is hidden under the chest armor.
  16. That was the only think that stood out to me as well. Other than that it looks great! Nice job on the weathering (my weathering washes out on camera as well)
  17. That pouch should be black - the CRL says 'made of black leather, canvas or vinyl'. I think that pic in the CRL was washed out by the camera flash, so I can understand someone thinking it is OD green. If you have a way to post some pics that would assist us to helping you out. Not sure what you meant about the gap in the back.
  18. Looks good! And in case you didn't know, use some sand paper on the edges to smooth them out.
  19. For my two builds (TD and TX) I never used magnets. Only varying sizes of clamps and a lot blue painters tape. Everything worked perfectly for me
  20. If you got a Jo-Ann's, Hobby Lobby or Michael's try there...can't believe Wal-Mart doesn't have it, I have always found it there.
