  1. Frame??? Gotta have it. It will make for a stable base and it is an accurate part of the pack build. The Nova pack is the same as the TD pack, just all black. Check out some of the build threads here for great info and ideas. Here is a recent Nova Pack I built for a Trooper over on the Black Ops Forum... Good luck and like DB said, have fun with it!
  2. I don't think the MC bucket is all that accurate. Prepare to wait awhile as well. I would highly recommend MTK from Mike at Trooperbay. Good stuff, good price, great customer service.
  3. Maybe they are posted up somewhere else. I will try to get a link that works for you overseas troopers.
  4. Hey all. Here are the 2 links for the show. Part 1 includes footage of the Star Garrison on Texas... http://abc.go.com/watch/extreme-makeover-home-edition/SH559052/VD55252209/zdroj-family---part-1 Part 2 is the Empire City Garrison in Central Park as well as LFL Studios in Cali... http://abc.go.com/watch/extreme-makeover-home-edition/SH559052/VD55252218/zdroj-family---part-2 It was only 28 degrees the day of the shoot in NY. That little bit of air time took about 6 takes and 3 hours to get! LOL We were frozen! The second and third TD's on the right are myself and MEPD officer Dave Braun. Enjoy!
  5. Andrew already has an EFX bucket he is modding, so he is looking for just armor at this point. As someone who has owned and built 2 AM kits, the armor can be made to look really nice when done. We have 3 or 4 troopers with AM in my Garrison and they look great. For the larger trooper, it is definetely the way to go. Pandatrooper did an AM Sandie a couple years back and it came out amazing. I'm sure the thread is on here somewhere.
  6. Hey Andrew. Who were you using as a contact for that AM kit? There were a couple of other distributors of the AM kits. Try contacting "MightyTank" here on the MEPD. He was selling the AM stuff for awhile. He may be able to help you if he has some kits on hand.
  7. Hey all. Just a heads up that the Episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition that the Empire City Garrison filmed in Central Park last December is airing tonight on ABC. It is a 2 hour special with 501st members from the Star Garrison in Texas making appearances as well at the job site. Two MEPD Deployed Officers will be on screen to surprise the family in Central Park (along with Vader and some other TK's). Myself and my pal Dave Braun TD6513 are those Officers. Enjoy!
  8. Thanks Chris. Consider yourself added to the list Dave!
  9. That's the right look Lou. Could also mount it with a flat piece of black ABS or other plastic cut slightly larger than the dish. I have done that before. Looks great!
  10. Hey all. Just figured I would take a moment to update anyone on my Pack waiting list. Due to the recent Hurricane that hit the east coast, I have been working crazy long hours and haven't had a day off in a month. I work for Verizon (not the Cellular division) and we have been on forced 12-14 hour days during restoration efforts to the outside plant. Initially, I lost power at my home for about 5 days. No damage thankfully. Long story short, work in the shop has basically come to a stand still. We have been told that the forced hours will continue until Dec. 21st. Beyond that, who knows. Could end up being sent to other harder hit areas like Long Island, Lower Manhattan, or the Jersey coast. I want to apologize in advance to anyone waiting for a pack. I will do my best to fill what orders I can, but I have to sleep sometime. LOL If anyone on the list wants to back out or can't wait, I completely understand. Please post up here or drop me a PM and I will get back in touch with you when I can. Thanks!!!
  11. Yeah. The OT is great, but the kids and the wife are taking it hard. Always tough to be away from home so much around the Holidays. I even worked 12 on Thanksgiving Day. It will all be worth it in the long run. Kids will have a great Christmas that's for sure. LOL
  12. Hey Mike. Great job man! He is gonna love it. I did one of these a couple years back for my boy Aidan. I did the pack as well and the mini pauldron I had made by Pandatrooper. Wodchuck did a very speacial version of a mini T-21 for him as well. I have since sold the pack to another UK guy for his son. Pretty sure that is the pack that Smally and some others have seen around. Let me know if you want one down the road. I could build another for ya. Here are some pics of my son's gear...
  13. Hang in there Rick, I know the feeling. I have been working 30 days straight since the Hurricane. Verizon has had us on forced 12-14 hour days, 7 days a week until Dec. 21st. My build schedule has really taken a hit. After the holidays, I may be forced to Long Island for 30 days to help with restoration efforts there. No rest for the weary.
  14. Not to let the cat out of the bag more than it already is, but Rob and Simon from RS contacted me about 8 weeks ago about this project for AF. I was commisioned to build 2 SWAT level Move Along packs or them. They already have the 1st one in hand and it will be given to AF along with his RS armor. Can't wait to see him wearing a Quartermaster Pack.
  15. OK. Since I am the builder of the pack that Chris is using for deployment, let me just point out two things. 1. The pack is 100% acceptable for Police Officer Deployment. 2. Really? The exhaust port is too high? Come on guys. I know you want to be sticklers for accuracy, but if that's the case, then how was this pack acceptable for SWAT... There are obvious accuracy issues here and they were overlooked. My point is, if we are gonna be sticklers for all the little things, then there better be some consistancy with it. To Chris, if the length on your exhaust port tube is a problem when the time comes for SWAT Deployment, or if you are just not happy with it, I will make it good. Even if I have to drive up to you to make it right. Just say the word. I stand 100% behind anything I build.
  16. Looks fantastic bro! Should be an easy pass. Might want to post a closeup of the ammo belt corners though. Hard to tell if they have the small 45 degree angles cut on the corners. Other than that, looks amazing! Great job and good luck!
  17. The Inkmasters Star Wars episode will air next Tuesday night on Spike TV. This was done by the Empire City Garrison back in July. I was supposed to go, but couldn't make it. This was an arranged event with Lucas Films. Unfortunately, the shows promoters who know nothing of Star Wars decided last minute to pad the # of troopers on set with volunteers in RUBIES armor!!!! Also did it without LFL's permission. The handful of ECG troopers that went were really P'd off and almost didn't do this. It was a bad situation. Pay no attention to those really bad TK suits when you see them!
  18. Great job Ben! Congrats on your Sandy Status! I'm sure Juan will chime in soon.
  19. She's comin right for us Rick. Spent the day preping the house. Ready for the worst. Be safe brotther.
  20. This is a new setup I am now using on all future pack builds. Military Y-Harness. I separate the 2 padded straps from the top webbing that connects them. I then wrap the nylon strap at the top around the frame tube and hold in place using 2 slide clips. The bottom connections use the existing metal clip that attaches to a small D-ring clip that is attached to the side frame tube.
  21. Lookin really good there Anthony!!! Only thing I see is the corners of your ammo belt. Need to trim them at 45 degree angles like this....
