This is the "moon blue" colour I found in a painters supply shop over here in Europe...
-
Here is my own pack #5 made from a mix of dirtyboy and crashmann parts, real tuppercraft sto-n-go and radar dish. Paint is "moon blue"... URL=http://s447.photobucket.com/user/wannabeuk/media/WP_20160124_20_45_58_Rich.jpg.html][/url] The overly large filter, which I made out of a wet-wipes bottle and draught seal will be soon replaced with a 3D printed model that I designed... I shall also soon be adding some 3D printed "mystery" box greeblies, again that I modelled from scratch... Let me know what you guys think.

In these very litigous times I would advise against manhandling children or threatening violence. Making any kind of physical contact and/or behaving threateningly even in apparent retaliation can get you into some serious trouble with the law for assault and will be sure to get you sued. And the last thing anyone here wants is a headline in the news like "Stormtrooper assaults minor". I would suggest that if this happens that you first remove your helmet and then very loudly and clearly and without swearing or adding insults say "STOP!". If the aggravation continues repeat and add something like "STOP! OR I WILL CALL THE POLICE". This is surely likely to attract the attention of the parents to whom you MUST explain very calmly what happened and that their children are not welcome to interact with you. Avoid confrontation with the parents. If they protest you should then simply walk away and remove yourself from the scene and continue your troop elsewhere. If the same children reappear you should immediately remove your helmet once again to identify yourself and repeat to the adults that their children are not welcome. If there are no adults apparent, the removal of the helmet may suffice to intimidate else a simple instruction like "GO AWAY!" will usually work. Just my $0.02 worth.

Droid Evidence
berkal replied to The Dirty Trooper's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
Yeah, I know. I used to strip, clean, regrease, and reassemble the ball bearings out of my headsets and bottom brackets when I used to race bikes. My point is they have a tapered surface to facilitate a close fit through adjustment. Cones are another name for these bearing races. As in cup and cone bearings. -

Oh and bearing parts like this are conical. Another name for them is cones. -

I think you mean a headset. That's what it looks like to me too: a bearing race from an old bicycle headset. -
In Aberdeenshire Scotland ifs illegal to wear a balaclava. Stupid laws are everywhere but it takes stupid cops to enforce them stupidly.

And there I was under the impression that Alderaan was a peaceful planet without any weapons. Its a good thing we blew the frak out of those lying Rebel sympathizers when we did

WoodChuck finds new methof for building props.

Most 3D printing is charged by volume of print material. By the cc as it were. It works out to around $2 per cc. Now before you say "holy cow that's cheap" it actually isn't very when you consider how small 1cc actually is. Something the size of an iPhone will cost around $150 to prototype and most companies will have a minimum of around double that. You can buy a reasonably sized 3D printer for around $15 to 20k that you can literally hook up to your PC via USB like a regular inkjet. -

You could start a small business helping out us Euros. Great assist bro. The site does ship outside CONUS but they want to charge nearly $100 to post a small $10 pouch by USP regular mail!!! I understand the extra effort it takes to export but that cost is just nuts. -
I'm in for sure. Would love to meet up with the MEPD guys. I will definitely have deployed armour by then. I wonder if I'll be the only English/Swiss contingent?

TK Boot question
berkal replied to kirbyharless's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
TK Boots are now in stock again, although I believe there was a healthy waiting list. Hope you're in luck brother. My size 11s are already on their way :-) -
Lovely weathering.

Looking good there. Might want to wear something less bulky than jeans and a sweat when your test fitting armour. Might skew the results, so to speak.

Interesting thread. I dont think the scene is a forgery. I'm no expert, but i remember talking with the late Anthony Minghella when I was designing his London studios a few years back about the movie making process. He told me that after filming the English patient he has about 24 hours of rushes in the can from which he had to edit a 2 and a half hour movie. At the time he was still preparing daily cuts on celluloid whilst making the rough cuts on Avid. He told me that most footage is unusable for one reason or another either bad light, bad sound, badly composed, acted, or was incorrectly paced, did not progress the story or was just a victim of time constraints. Many of the scenes that you are describing above, whilst part of the original story were probably abandoned because of one or more of these reasons. Like i said, I'm no expert, just passing on wisdom from someone who was. -
Kina reminds me of Acroyear from micronauts

I have to say you've done a sterling job there bru. And looking at my old armour again made me want to start it up all again. I've just now gone and ordered another sandy kit from VT :-) I wonder where my nearest outpost is here in Switzerland?
