  1. Just thought I'd post a preview of my latest project in progress: a 3D model of the Shore trooper heavy blaster from Rogue One. This has been modelled by myself from photos I took of the real prop at Celebration Europe earlier this year. It's still not perfectly how I would like it. I can see errors. But l think it's probably 95% there. Comments welcome. Admin feel free to move/edit this thread if you think it's in the wrong place.
  2. That and the paint is hard to wash off your armour :-)
  3. Decals are accepted for basic 501st approval. The MEPD requires "hand painted" for deployment. Although I don't see the difference between using a paint effect decal and painting in a template.
  4. Great stuff! Will you build an Android version too?
  5. Thanks for the review and for all the positive comments. I'll endeavour to get the paint mods done this weekend and hopefully have everything buttoned up for next week.

Actually, it would be great if it were *that* easy. Especially since 75% of the SWAT impressions are "Road block captain" it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
  8. That blaster looks suspiciously like a Hasbro conversion ... just sayin
  9. The working sight prototype is more or less resolved now. The images below are the parts just dry fit together, pretty much raw off the printer. Minor clean up only. Will need to add some TLC later : Closed: Open: Adjustable aiming reticle :
  10. Thanks for using my build as a reference. It's a real compliment. Drop me a line, Ryan. I think I might be able to help you out if your tired of chopping your own hands off.

What I'd like to see would be a clear mention of which trooper is being emulated in the approval thread titles. That way its easy to quickly search for others who have attempted and completed a particular impression.
  12. Understood. I regret the use of the word as it seems to have unfortunately distracted from my initial point which is that the community needs clarity.
  13. To me it is clear from the level of confusion that this spin-off group is generating that the MEPD should just sever the link. I share Lee's sentiments that this group really adds nothing to the community and merely muddies the waters. I wish them luck but I for one will not be seeking their dubious approval on the accuracy of my armour, my pack, or my blaster.
  14. Interesting technique. Will look forward to seeing it finished.
  15. And you know what makes a T-21 look **** good? A freakin' TIE Fighter, that's what!...
  16. You ask ... we deliver: The greeblie sales thread The filter sales thread Thanks for all the positive comments guys. More parts on the way.
  17. So the blaster appeared at Fantasy Basel this weekend. Trooping was totally fine as you'd expect for a 3kg build. I alternated between my E-11 and the T-21 all afternoon:
  18. Looks like a good start. Just a note if you're after accuracy: the front part of the stock is squarer (to match the shape of the tang and receiver) than the rear which is more ovalised, if that makes sense.
  19. Just a note about accuracy: I saw you make reference to two "chisel" marks on the receiver underneath the bolt carrier. In actual fact these marks are détents for the safety bar slide that was present on the original Lewis gun and which are clearly absent from the Lewis that Machine et al inspected.
