  2. I did a little step by step on making my lastest backpack using vacformed parts that I have made. http://www.fettgear.com/webprops/sandybpack/index.htm heres a side shot of the finished pack...

  4. Cleared for action in the UK!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!
  5. Thank you so much guys! I only made then really for me and a couple of the UKG boys but it was very nice to have so many people ask if they could have one. I know they are not totally accurate by far! but they are ok and I think do look good on the back pack. I havent made loads of money from it ...to be honest I have covered costs and I am happy. The plastic in this country is more than you guys pay in the states and once you take in to conisderation the RTV and resin to make the knob moulds and then the knobs ... then the 4 hrs it takes to make and construct each one they have not been a profit making venture at all! LOL I never opporate like that anyway.. ask anyone in the UK Garrison and they will tell you, I am always to nice!! and out of pocket by never charging for things as I should.. I just like to help out where I can! We are all 501st and where ever you are in the world we are all part of the same amazing group! 501st Rocks! heres mine on my pack.

  9. Well I put in for clearance yesterday.. fingers crossed. The backpack does go on straight but the wife wasn't very helpful!
  10. Cheers guys! I like it more weathered than that but I think for clearance here in the Uk we have to keep it lean! LOL cheers!

  14. Hi whats the prefered way to mount the lid on the TD? The lid has a neck with a flat at the end of it where it attaches to the TD. Do you remove the flat and mount it so the neck juts the disk out? or Do you remove the falt and the neck so the disk shape touches the TD shaft? thanks
  15. Hi Guys PM me for any requests
  16. I have made these on my vacformer, I have sold quite a few as kits over here in the UK to the garrison TD's. I would need to sort out my masters again to do some more but if you are interested let me know. I did them for £20 GBP plus post and they were sold as shells nearly built ready to add the lenses etc. (these ones were MY finished onesafter adding all the bits and bobs and painting- not what would be recieved ) I also added a wireless video camera to them so the right hand sensor (where the red LED is)on the front wont be the same as on these, I had to change it to get the camera in. Click Here for more pics-Macrobinocs project This is what the right hand sensor looks like on my masters
  17. ****KNOB DIMENSIONS**** the 2 smaller ones are 6/8ths of an inch dia (20mm) and the bigger one that fits on to a larger one(not supplied) is 1 inch & 1/8 (30mm) The smaller one with the side tag is 1 inch & 1/8 wide inc the tab (30mm) I hope I have the inches right as I dont use them I am a metric boy LOL ***** FINISHED RADIO**** OK here she is! PLEASE BE AWARE THE FRONT IS 8 X 6 But the back box is slightly smaller so the front fits over the back, it is also 2 and a quater inches deep. I have also formed a LED dome on the back of the dial so you can add a light to the back to illuminate the dial. All that is needed is to add the 2 slide pole switches to complete. I have even sunken the jack sockets on the left side on to a sunken plate as per the original. I am going to make these to order for £30 GBP plus shipping to you (Sold as seen in these final pics!!) PM me for details
  18. Cool I will measure them and give you their dimensions so you can check they will fit your facia plate I presume you guys would want them with out the bolts so you can just stick them on? I will sell the three knobs for £5GBP including shipping to you and they would be ready to use painted black ****KNOB DIMENSIONS**** the 2 smaller ones are 6/8ths of an inch dia (20mm) and the bigger one that fits on to a larger one(not supplied) is 1 inch & 1/8 (30mm) The smaller one with the side tag is 1 inch & 1/8 wide inc the tab (30mm) I hope I have the inches right as I dont use them I am a metric boy LOL
  19. Hi buddy I am using 2mm....I'm not sure what that is in inches, but I dont want to go ony lower as it would get to thin and be weak. I may have a go with 1.5mm I can do the buttons on their own if they are wanted.
  20. Hi I thought I'd compile all my pics of the Backpack radio Project I have been doing over the last few weeks. I made some vac masters from wood, basing the size on the description of the Sonix.. '8 inch' I have taken that as the hight as it would be the largest dimension listed. I have tried to replicate the diferent layer levels of the original and even down to the screw holes in the corners of each section. I tried to replicate the layers on the 4 souround or the speaker but vacforming doesnt bring them out so I scrapped them. I used the fantastic dial graphic from whitecomandoV2 Here is the radio I then created very close versions of the knobs, made a mould of them then took plastic resin casts with bolts in the back so they can turn as well. I have also made an Aerial Head for the top right and the 2 jack points on the side. I am going to paint the knobs and assemble it tomorrow so I will post up the final pics ASAP.
  21. Ok update on my Vac-formed radio as seen in on the last page, I have now created masters for the knobs, strap holders (my perception of what they look like from the pics) and the 2 left side sockets and aerial head on top right as greeblies. I have taken a silicon mould of them and have been casting them tonight in poly resin with bolts out the back so they can be turned like the real thing! My main PC is causing me probs so I cant post the pic as I type but I will ASAP. I think they have come out amazing! But thats me LOL I'll post as soon asi can with the completed thing.
