  1. Thanks Paul! Well said. Toning it down and cleaning it up this weekend. Good thing I didn't do the whole suit yet, just these pieces. More progress to come. Thanks again for the invaluable advice.
  2. Awesome... all of these helpful comments are the kind of advice I need. Thanks guys. I think I know what you mean. I'll work on it and post up. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks Erik. I think I have an idea what you mean. More progress soon I hope...
  4. OK, so I really took the plunge and have weathered about half of my suit. I used a combo of acrylic paints (burnt umber, maple syrup, tan) and Doc's Caboose weathering powder (various shades) to achieve this look. Keep in mind that I prefer the "quite dirty" look. Please tell me what you think. Up next are the biceps, shoulders, ab/kidney, shoes, pauldron, and bucket. Comments welcome please. Thanks for looking.
  5. Looks good mate. I started weathering my TK this weekend too. Did you ever feel like, "Wow, this is too much muck and dirt..."??? I better post up mine I suppose. Keep up the good work!
  6. P.S. I printed 5-6 of these out with my Canon laser printer on high gloss photo paper about postcard size. They look great. So if any you troopers need one I'll throw one in the mail to you.
  7. Found it. Scroll about 1/4 of the way down the page. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=...adio&st=160 Thanks Mike for making this.
  8. Mike, I looked around those forums and couldn't locate it. I'd really like to use it as well. Thanks so much.
  9. Thanks Erik, that helps a lot. And thanks for the excellent screen pics!
  10. OK, so I have weathered my clone and I really enjoyed the process and the results. I figured I'd used much of the same techniques on my soon-to-be TD. However I have come to the experts for guidance. I figured I'd use a combo of blackwash and weathering powder that some of the clones use... For my clone I used the Grimy Grey and the Dust Bowl Brown. What do you guys think I should use for the TD then? A few of these colors or a combo of all in varying layers? They also have these colors which I could also order... The middle set there is Light Rust (lower left), Med Rust (lower right), Dark Rust (upper left), and Soot (upper right). If you think it would be helpful I could apply each color to a scrap piece of ABS so you can really see how it would look on armor. Please give me some good advice! Thanks.
  11. You know what it reminds me of? If a stormtrooper helmet somehow melted onto Kit Fisto's face... reference the eyes...
  12. I threw up in my (AP) bucket a little bit.
  13. I know this thread is a bit old, and I don't know if they have stores up near you, but... ACE Hardware always seems to have an awesome stock of adhesives. That's where I get my Devcon. Hope this helps. P.S. Mike, if I can still find it at ACE I'll buy some and ship it to you if you like.
  14. Looks good to me. What type of weathering technique did you use? I am just about to go TD myself.
  15. Xavier, this is good info. That sounds it comes directly from WDW, yes? I have an e-mail in to them and haven't heard back yet. Leaning more toward Obi Wan if in fact they need to see eyes... Trooper helmets just wouldn't work it seems...
  16. I'll be going this year to the Disney World one sometime in September (middle of the month I think). Was set on going TK (TD if I get my pack and weathering done in time!). But now with this helmet issue mentioned above I may just finish up my Clone Wars Kenobi w/ clone armor. Decisions, decisions...
  17. Here is another really good one on FISD by Smitty, one of the foremost experts on E-11's IMHO, http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?show...;s+hasbro+mod... I would go Stomper for most of your parts now and in the future; although I'm told I got the last of the power cylinders...
  18. I'm confused... what does all this mean? Perhaps this isn't for noobs to understand....
  19. Cool. Thanks Mike. One producer of a limited run of armor over at ct.net decided on a date and time for the sale to begin and announced it several days in advance. Then at the designated time he posted a Sales thread with an otherwise undisclosed e-mail address that interested folks messaged. the first ten messages he recieved were "in". In this way it was fair to all who wanted a shot at the items. Just an idea. Good luck with the house move. Of course "real life" takes precedence.
  20. I'd like to be added to the interest list if there is one Mike. If not should I keep my eyes here or on the For Sale section? Thanks.
  21. Ah, it worked! Thanks!
  22. I highly recommend it. I'm trying to change my avatar to match the book cover! Darn- why is it not working.... still Simpsons...
  23. Great topic Terrick; and great name. I took my board name (is that the correct term?) from the character Daric LaRone, a stormtrooper from Timothy Zahn's SW expanded universe book "Allegiance" (which is quite a good read btw). Additionally of course I like "Daric" b/c my first name is "Derek". His character is also the first stormtrooper (that I know of) to get an indepth major storyline and character analysis in one of the expanded universe Star Wars novels: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Daric_LaRone
