  1. Yep...real life gets in my way too. Seems most events happen on the weekends, and theres just not enough hours in the day for me to make it out like I want to. Hope to see you soon, and I still want one of those "Raiders" shirts
  2. The spray sheen will make all the difference - stopped my dye from coming off completely. http://www.tandyleather.com/prodinfo.as ... =1&mitem=4
  3. However you do it, TAKE YOUR TIME...... and MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE (pencil wipes right off the ABS) Keep all the little scrap pieces you make - might need some to fill in small gaps you may get.
  4. Heres an example of what I've seen - MG-42: http://sci-fire.com/mg42_closeups.htm MG-34: http://sci-fire.com/mg34.htm I dont ever recall seeing the 42 in ANH
  5. I've read in several places around the web about MG-42's being used by sandtroopers, but I have never seen one in a picture. Does anyone have actual visable proof that they were used on-screen??
  6. Anyone know where to get a rubber eye-guard for one of these scopes??
  7. The big reason I even bring it up - I would like to see the TD numbers increase, and I feel like its a bit intimidating for some of our fellow TK troopers to see all of these requirements, and think to themselves "OMG, I have to get all that stuff??" -or- They could be in the same boat as me with a physical condition that doesnt allow them to tote all of that gear around. Maybe we could have it stated in the requirements that you merely just need to possess these items, and "not necessarily have to troop with them every time" - exactly what you guys are saying. I just want to see this group grow and thrive, and for no one to feel like they cant be part of it because of a requirement.
  8. Throwing my opinion back out there - 1) In the Alleyway Search scene, there are 4 sandtroopers, all with backpacks, but just carrying E-11's - no BFG's there 2) The Docking Bay 94/Garindan scene, 2 of the 7 troopers are without backpack, but they have BFG's (and one of those sandies doesnt even have a pauldron) 'MEPD Deployed Status' requirements indicate that you need both - I'd like to see this altered (maybe a poll?) to having one or the other (pack/BFG), or both if you like, and for us all to having healthy backs and spines CHEERS, from the guy with the bad back - LOL
  9. When I did my ab plate and frown holes, I used a 3 step method: 1) Dremmel away/out the larger chunks 2) Swithched to jewelers/modeling files 3) Then to an emery board for finalizing It takes a bit longer, but you have WAY more control over what you're doing - this is an area where you want to do it right the 1st time.

  13. I believe you're referring to it stating 'Pauldron' in the charter, and 'Pouches' listed twice here - http://www.sandtrooper.net/mepd/require/ - yes, this is a small error thats been overlooked(until now). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The requirements in the charter are to become a TD - not too close to the movie(you dont even need dirt). To become a "fully deployed MEPD officer", is where the newer requirements come into play. This is for the guys that go the extra steps to make their gear as movie accurate as possible. An extra web page was created for those of us who have met these requirements - http://www.sandtrooper.net/mepd/deployed/index.htm - and Josh(our webmaster here) is currently asking for those that need to be added to that page, to sound off on this thread - http://www.sandtrooper.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=514 Hope this clears up any confusion

  16. You could try contacting your local garrison C.O. to find an armor source for you - usually its more trustworthy than eBay. Looks like it may be the Golden Gate Garrison for you: www.goldengategarrison.com Good Luck -
