  1. I've pinged my friend to see if he thinks he might have time to do this soon. If so I'll post as soon as I hear. If not, I'll let you all know that as well.
  2. Just a quick note: In your links to the PDFs of Part II, chapters 1 & 3 point to the Part 1 PDFs.
  3. Seriously, find contact info for Lucas Books, and get in contact with them. This is *good*. I'd certainly add it to my collection if it got published.
  4. StormTech StormTec StormTek ScoutTech ScoutTec ScoutTek PlasTech PlasTec PlasTek UltraScout Scout-Tastic Nifty Scout Pistol Bob Don't-make-me-come-over-there-and-hit-you-with-this! Oooh! I want! Scout Blaster with miracle wookie-shaver attachment!
  5. Ok, so for leather, it looks like the *body* of the ones I have are fine. For Wein Stolla, I'd just need to taper the tips of the top flaps. For the *other* style, get rid of most of the top flaps, replacing the latching portion with a strap and add a set of strap stays. Or am I missing something else?
  6. Can someone point out what the major differencs are? All I can see, compared to the ones in those pictures that look leather, is that the pictured ones have tapered, shorter top flaps. Is there anything else my untrained eye isn't picking up?
  7. @Steve: Added a picture of the 'model' as suggested. Don't know why I didn't think of it in the first place. @Seth: Got a link to a Stolla Wien pic? All I found doing a quick search was what looked like a single pouch with 3 top flaps. @Xavier: Don't know how quick it would happen at this point, this is just a feeler so I can get back to him with some sort of indicator of whether enough people would be interested for him to be willing to go through the effort. The idea is to make them so that they can be hung from the belt & shoulder with minimal work. (No need to hack off the diagonal straps found on the back of the real ones.)
  8. Got an ebay ID, or contact info for him? I've just discovered that my under armor is losing the outside seam on the left calf, and I'm a fairly tall guy (6'2"), so it's kinda short in the arms anyway. I might be interested in a set that would fit me right at some point in the near future.
  9. Hey guys, I'm back from an extended sabbatical from these forums. I've got a friend who does leather working, and talked to him about the idea of making a batch of MP-40 replica pouches. I showed him mine, and he said he could do it pretty easily, but he'd need a decent sized order for it to be worth his time. So, I figured I'd post here to find out what everyone thought of getting some MP-40 pouches that would already be dyed black, and strapped to hang on our armor? Feel free to suggest pricing. After all, this is just a feeler at this point. They'd be based on the pouches I got from bulk purchase slave1pilot did 2005. I've since seen some pictures of pouches with tapered tips to the flaps, and that would be an easy alteration if more people want that. EDIT: No dice. Life hit the fan for him as it were. If/when that status changes, I'll post again.
  10. I love the idea of being able to by the parts pre-assembled, but I also love working with my hands, so I'm fine either way. If you do alacarte ordering, do packages for certain pack types. No need to discount the packages, just make it easier for folks to be sure they've ordered all the parts they need.
  11. I don't know about the liner in particular, but I've been using 'Plumbing Goop' as my adhesive of choice on all my armor assembly. I've used the stuff in the past (a different variety, though), and I've never had a problem with it melting due to heat or anything like that.

    Made A Pack

Sweet. You'll have to post a parts list for the rest of us who are still working toward full sets of kit.
