  5. Had my first troop with this modified rig on Friday night. It worked pretty well, although I did notice a problem with my knee plate causing a pinch on my knee (and that hurts a lot!) between my knee plate and my thigh piece. I do have to figure out a better way to have everything sit, maybe a piece of foam at the knee? Still need to order my pouches and make my shoulder straps. Also, I miss my holster, after a few hours of holding my blaster, it started to get really heavy. Maybe TKs are too soft and need to toughen up a bit. lol.
  6. Pauldron arrived, so I had to do a test fitting. It's been far too long since I've worn everything.
  7. Had to order new decals for my helmet. Trying to hand paint them turned into a mess, so I just ordered a new set from Trooperbay. Got the new decals and weathering done on the bucket. All that is left is weathering my boots and ordering the pauldron and pouches.
  8. Most of the weathering is now complete. Still need to order a pauldron and pouches, finish weathering my shoes and helmet, and make my canvas shoulder straps. Here is my first test fit with the new legs and weathering. Not sure what is going on with my thigh piece in this picture
  9. I took some of the weathering down. Is this looking better? I'm happier with this, but I don't know if I've got it yet.
  10. I'm probably spending too much time obsessing over the weathering. I'm not sure if it's too dirty.
  11. I got rid of my FX helmet a long time ago. I have an MRCE now.
  12. I've spent the last few weeks (slowly) converting my current TK over to a TD. It's my original FX suit from 2008, 5 years of trooping has worn this suit out, figured it was time for a change. I got some RT thighs and shins to replace my FX ones. Progress so far:
  13. I've got my Ghostbuster jumpsuit close enough. Somebody's gotta take care of these spooks and who ya gonna call?
  14. Re-introducing myself since it's been a while since I was on here. My name is Paul, TK-5990 from Virginia, Garrison Tyranus. I'm planning on changing my current TK over to a TD. I've been shiny for too long, time to get dirty.
  15. minor thread hijack here, but I've been looking at possibly making a T-21 at some point. I'm lousy at wood working. I'm more likely to cut my thumb off than anything . Is there an existing way to get the stock and "gun" portions. Is there an airsoft rifle, bb gun, anything like that that people have seen that would match up? Some google searching and I have found a partial answer, anyone have experience with these or the sellers? http://www.foxflier.com/lewis/
  16. Just heard the good news, congratulations Noel!
  17. I'll be there, hopefully I'll have my TD done in time too
  18. Very cool. One of these days I'll drop the coin for them. Is it just me or does the helmet on this have a very FX vibe to it?
  19. A good diagram for strapping
  20. Looks pretty good. Do you have a strap running to your forearms? They look like they are falling down. Also, not sure if those are your final gloves or not, but you are going to want gloves that are all black.
  21. Thanks for the great info. It helps a lot. I think I already know the answer to this question, but I just wanted to make sure. Is it required to have a pouch on your shoulder? Or is that just one of the many configurations that are accepted?
  22. I've been researching on here and nearly going blind looking at screen caps posted. Among other things, I'm trying to figure out the pouches and placement. I was thinking about these questions right here http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/cP...products_id/325. I was thinking one on the shoulder and on my hip would be good. Would the 3+1 be better on the hip or on the shoulder? It seems in the screencaps you can see just about every variation of pouches possible. Also, I seem to have misplaced the link for the FX ab plate conversion. I thought I saw someone selling the pieces on here, but I can't seem to find it again.
  23. Is there a specific diameter requirement for the 3 buttons on the side? I still have the oversized black buttons that came with the FX kit, would those work attached to a strip of ABS? Obviously, with them being painted and weathered to match.
  24. I've been a lurker on here for a while now, and I've been doing small amounts of research on moving from the Death Star hallways over to the sands of Tattooine. I'm really wanting to take the plunge and convert my current MRCE-FX setup from TK to TD. My name is Paul, TK-5990 in Garrison Tyranus. I think it's time I embraced my sandy heritage. I was born in the desert and raised on the beach, so I'm used to being around sand.
