  3. hi guys ,as you know,i weathered Smally's DLT-19 and E-11 for him a couple of weeks back, but i,just want to share some pics of the weathering job i have just finished today for Neil (Elegance) on his Doopey Doos DLT-19 unlike Smallys blaster i did,,Neil didnt want me to add the reciever greeblies,so ,its just a stock doopeys DLT-19, but ,weathered up ! just needs a coat of clear coat enamel laquer to finish it off now ,before i return it to him ....ENJOY NEIL! A BIG THANX AGAIN TO PANDATROOPER.....FOR INSPIRING ME TO USE THIS METHOD A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO NOW.....THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I HAVE DONE BLASTER WEATHERING SINCE ! ....YOU DA MAN TERRY! 4. i have used plasti dip at my old job,...it dries almost like rubber, but, i wouldnt say it would be durable enough for repairing/strenghtening hips plastic dude ! ..... my armour is hips too, there are a few ways you can go here for repairs ..... #1 - super glue and rag inside to strengthen, #2 - glue thin strips of abs around the "weak points" of the armour pieces (eg; neck line of chest and edges of all armour parts,,and ,also all the return edges too! - they are the weak points! )....or, as i have recently done...... i used fibre glass matting and low styrene ,polyester resin around the weak areas mentioned above, to strengthen them up ! ...... hips gives a nice, sharp pull, but the down side to it is- it is susceptable to weakening with u.v light and stress........ hence, mine is forever cracking /failing on me at trooping events !!!! ...you just end up doing repair job after repair job - a seemingly endless task for me ! ! .......the fibreglass has added more weight to my armour,,and i still have to test it out yet to see if it is the best option,as ive already tried the other two ,so i dont know as yet whether its gonna work ! .....basically,my next armour will be "good old, trusty" ABS !
  5. nice one buddy! .... i got a pair of macros, with a wireless colour ,and sound video camera built into em ! i bought them off nath smith (who made the binoc moulds and installed the camera) a few years ago....only trooped them once though!
  6. SWEEEET BUDDY! HOPE TO SEE YOU TROOPING WITH US VERY SOON!
  7. you should be fine with the thighs bud ..... i know exactly where youre comming from here ! we have to get the armour fitting us as best as we can ,i worked a pair of smallys buddies thighs a while ago because our previous GML at the time wasnt happy with how they looked (he had wide, wedge shaped shims at the rear) i told him that this guy had very muscular thighs and that this was the only way brad could get them to fit him ! - and also, i think its not so critical at the back personally ,and if we can take into account the troopers individual build too,.... as long as the front shims look right..... anyway, smally's buddy got new thighs, and i built them for him,and i think they still needed to go wider to be really comfy - i was told no wider than 2 and 1/2 " by the previous GML at the time ! ......but .i think a practical eye over stuff like this for the larger trooper, should be considered ! Robbie.....,us MEPD guys will have you rockin' in no time dude ! ....keep up the good work bro ! oh,and i agree with what mike said too....add a centre shim, and blend the shim weathering into the thigh armour ,that should do the trick !
  8. i agree with Rick too start at the top first !....,as Hamill's chest was cut down for him by the props guys, it is a valid 76' ANH mod ,but adding a return edge with a modelling iron will make it look more consistent with the 76' sandie look too
  9. HERES THE LINK FOR MEPD REQUIREMENTS BUDDY hope that helps bro http://www.mepd.net/crl/#MEPDRequirements
  10. looking great buddy! if it helps you in any way Robbie,,i have noticed a couple of tweaks here and there that may be useful to you,to help your kit look even cooler ! , as i am a big guy, with short legs,, i used to have issues with things sitting right, and staying put on my sandie a few years back - especially the shin armour riding up,trapping my sniper plate under the thigh armour , and , also the chest riding up and causing the top of the ab to pop out over the chest ! i applied some thought to this problem and came up with a solution, and some easy mods that prevented these things happening to me again if you need me to,, i can help you with a few simple mods that will do the job for you bro ! all the info you need on mods for MEPD deployment are here on the forum good luck with approval, and enjoy your trooping as a 501st sandie !,
  11. lol! well doneagain Brad! ..... i told you guys he would raise the standards for us with this build ;0)
  12. PURELY AWESOME BRAD !!!!!!!!!!! ..... an incredible build in such a short space of time !! ... Guys,.i have been fortunate enough see this in the flesh, during most parts of the build process ,and, trust me, it looks even more awesome in the flesh, than what you see here guys! ...... Smally gets my vote for the role of MEPD armourer any day !!! ....76' ALL THE WAY Bro ! :salute: :salute: and.....TrooperMaster ROCKS !!!!!!!

  14. bro...... i really enjoyed gifting you the E-11,and ,my old, scratch built T-21 ,.....and loved weathering them all for you ! ....you will truly do the 76' spirit justice in your new sandie build bro ! ....this is why Smally truly deserves the MEPD Armourer job ! ........ive seen his work ! (you guys havent yet though ! ) ,and it is bang- on to the on-screen look of Anthony Forrest ! ! .....76' ALL THE WAY ! :0)
