  1. Excited to see you back my friend. And to see your kits will finally get done. It will be amazing no doubt once finished. Hope life is well. Saludos.
  2. Yes. It is actually a bit less stressful to build it this way. But I am in no way looking to start a discussion about a new level. This is not for the CRL. But for fun. Cause yes, it can be too difficult to make previous levels match a new top one. And the other way around. Saludos.
  3. Nice. I would love that in a Tshirt. Saludos.
  4. Great Bucket bro... And great to find the support you needed in Andy. That is what this is all about after all, troopers helping troopers and enjoying being part of this big family. Saludos. And welcome back.
  5. Hola Leno, cómo estas? Unfortunately, Lander, aka Aaron Landeros, has a bad reputation for not delivering in time, if at all, in Mexican Garrison. He is a cool guy and a good friend, but he somehow fails to deliver in time and to keep contact with costumers once the funds are sent. Why? Have no idea... My advice would be, keep asking and pushing till you get what you paid for... And then, not buy from him again. Sorry to say this, even if I consider him a good friend, as a seller, he has proven not to be reliable many times in the past. Let me know if I can be of any help. Saludos.
  6. Thx for the good response bros! And, did I see somethimg new here? A badge above SWAT but away from the CRL? Swat was not intended to be incorporated to the CRL but a higher notch for troopees to aim for... It became so popular that other detach, ents followed and at the end, the Legion had to have it included in the CRL. I actually would not want a lever 4, but a Detachment badge sounds interesting... This is just food for thought... And we are far from there IMHO, but... Maybe someday. I must say that you guys on the BP are ahead of most of us in accuracy, reseach and builds... Can you go further? ABS armor and HDPE buckets... Turtle necks, vintage parts and hardware, clumsy assembly and residue? It can be done I guess... But yes, that wouldnt make a good trooping armor, but a great piece for any collection... But, would anyone take the challenge? Interesting... And exciting. Saludos.
  7. Is it???? First of all, I want to make it very clear that discussing this "accuracy level" do not has anything to do with the CRL or the badges available now for the MEPD or the 501st. This is a discussion for fun, and the build that will evolve from this will also be for fun. So, what do I have in mind??? I am currently (still) building a TK full replica armor based on the Tantive IV troopers. You can see it here... It has already been cleared for Centurion but I have always felt that Centurion was not (and was not intended to be) as accurate as I wanted. So, I have not settled for that. With SWAT it is different. The Badge is granted to armors that actually comply with many very specific details replicating one specific armor assembly. And that I love and work very hard to both, achieve the badge, and get the program up and working. But now, 4 years or so later, I wonder if I could go beyond SWAT... What I would do, and what I consider to be the only way to make a full replica armor, is to make it the way '76 armor was built. Not only trying to look similar, but to be built in a similar way. I am not inventing anything new, many ppl have done this before, but I have not seen it with a Sandtrooper armor. I mean: reckless trimming and assembling, glue residues, cracks and gaps and all kind of mistakes. Not replicating them, but making them due to the way the armor is built and treated. Also, replicating the interior with the same techniques and mistakes. Getting original boots and paint them white... a black turtle neck pullover instead of underarmor and neckseals... Next, getting as many original vintage parts as possible. Including materials parts are done for, found parts from the 70s and the such... Even (knowing that it most likely will be impossible), getting deactivated weapons to build the blasters. Would that be too much? Does that sounds accurate, and more accurate than SWAT even if it does not replicate a specific trooper? Is there any other way to go further? This is atm just an hipotetical discussion, but... maybe someday a build can meet this ideas. What do you think? This is meant to be an interesting and hopefully fun discussion about accuracy and going to far... and not a declaration of intention or fyi kind of thread. So... hope to hear many opinions on what you consider accurate and what is just plain madness. Saludos.
  8. Looking great bro! And absolutely better than your original idea of going TK!! Saludos.
  9. This is a great post! Thx Constantin... I do think the parts were grey originally. Actually, my first pack was painted gray. But then, at the time lots of research was done and we agreed that it would be a blueish grey or greyish blue. Then... we came with the Humbrol research and finally we concurred in the Humbrol 47 blue. Why? Don't know for sure. Many things, maybe we had different sources of info, maybe our screens were not as good (retina vs regular RGB or HD vs SD), also, Blueray Disks versions were not available... And photoshop had less tools than today. Still, we thought grey+blue was the way to go. As you know from our conversation this morning, I am in the process of getting all the vintage parts for a new pack. It will probably take me a few years (LOL) but for me the color is as important as the radio. So this is a great GREAT educated guess, and will be a very important part of that build. Thx for that bro! Here are a couple more references trying to uniform the info for all of us around the world, with codes and numbers to convert the color to different platforms and standards. Hope it helps... Saludos.
  10. Beautiful armor and gear bro! Big congrats... you are very close! Saludos.
  11. Thx for you time an enthusiasm Brad. Life gets busier and gets in the way of this hobby... I know how it is. But we will be here for you bro... Whenever life allows. Saludos.
  12. This might help. But as you see, there are curves everywhere. I'll try measure it up on the weekend. It is back on the storage. This pictures were taken earlier today. Saludos.
  13. Ok. I'll check those. Thing is that the base is not only bent on an L shape but also has an inwards angle. The base (base or the L) is not rectangular but more like a trapezoid. If you get what I mean. And the angles are more like curves. So it's tricky. I'll try my best anyway. Saludos.
  14. Which others bro? Point them to me at the picture and I'll take them for you. But I guess it is symmetrical so... Don't really see others except for angles maybe. Let me know. Saludos.
  15. Hey bros, I finally got to undress my karrimor frame and got some measurements for you... Tube is aluminium tubing 2cm wide. Hope this is usefull. Saludos.
  16. This is very interesting... I have been in Scouting since 1986, and at least to the stores ive been, they never carry one single kind of pack or even one single brand. So, even if they got the frame fro. A boy scouts shop in London, you could easily find any camping brand there. Also, people just tend to say "boy scout" to mean pretty much any camping or amateur oitdoors activity, specialy a few years ago... So, the posibilities are just infinite I guess. Saludos.
  17. Those are the same pouches I used to make mine. Needs some modying and some dying, but they seem fine to me. I wish I could get a set of original WWII era, but, thats just me dreaming. Saludos.
  18. This is the syphon infound on a toilet on the streets of London... Its not as vintage as the originals, but should be a close match. Saludos.
  19. Nice, where did you find those? Saludos...
  20. Wow. You guys are making great detective work here. Few ideas and comments: About the weir pattern in the side of the tool box, we used to think that somehow that tool box was comfigured in that or other pack, with a syphon there. The painted all black, then had the syphon detached. Just speculating but looks pausible. About the hole on the top of the mortar tube, e thought it was done to set a radar dish there, but then attached upside down ans therefore a new hole had to be made to attach the radar dish properly. I have that in my pack since 3 or 4 years ago. Trapezoid toolbox sounds about right. Keep it up guys. Saludos.
