  1. This last weekend the Mexican Garrison attended Expo Coleccionistas, the largest SW event in Mexico. Almost 50 Troopers from all around the country travel to Mexico City and trooped toguether for 3 days. With special guest Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb from ROTJ) and some voice actors from Mexican dubbed Versions, we had a great weekend. I had a speciall great time on Sunday morning when patrolling the convention center with fellow sandtroopers, acting like the tds in the Mos Eisley move along scene. Stopping people and asking for ids and papers for their "Droids" (children). Kids and parents just loved it alike. Here are some picts: ...
  2. Looking great so far bro! Pls, keep us posted. Its always a joy to see building threads. Saludos..
  3. You might want to consider adding the rings to the BFG... Other than that and modification to your helmet to fill the gap, to me it looks great. Saludos
  4. And of course if after Rolf is done with your suit, if you decide that you dont want it any more, I would be happy to keep it! LOL!! The bucket looks just perfect Rolf! Just amazing! Saludos...
  5. Way better... LOL! Saludos...
  6. The shoulder pouch should be attached to the backpack strap, thats the way they were attached on the movie. There are many troopers that just attach it to the shoulder with a different strapping system (many different ways to do it). Depending on what you want and how it works for you, I guess you can do it anyway you want. At some moment, I even used velcro to attach it to the shoulder bell or the chest plate. Having it attached to the backpack strap is more comfortable I would say, easier to put on, and more screen accurate. But... its up to you. Don't have a reference picture for strapping systems, but hopefully someone can post them so you can see it. Saludos
  7. Looking good bro! Nice armor! Are those pictures from a TV interview or someting? They even showed your name on screen... cool! Saludos...
  8. LOL! THX bro! HEHE! THX bro... need to get used to my new look. I like it. I would definitely like to do it, at least for a picture on armor! Would be cool... Yes, it was not easy, and the moment when I cut the last one was hard. I did the same thing when for my university graduation. Not dreads but long hair was cut off for the ceremony and job searching. You know how it is! Yes! I wanted some messed hair look after my dreads, so it works for me. I like it. LOL! Actually, a good friend of mine is building an ESB Boba Fett and he already asked me for a few dreads. Cool! Yes... screen accurate is my goal! LOL!! Thx bro! I loved and still love my dreads, it was just that time, you know... But still, I do like my new hairstyle... Thx a lot Bro. Muchas gracias por sus comentarios! Saludos...
  9. Really cool! I don't specially like the prototype helmet, but I would love to have it in my collection. Saludos...
  10. Looks amazing bro! Expected nothing less! Cant wait to see the whole thing finished. Saludos!
  11. I dont know if this has been discussed before, but cant remember ever reading or hearing about this. I was looking at high-def reference pictures from Art's site and noticed there is a TD with an orange pauldron wearing what appears to be an all-black seedtray backpack. Or more like, all covered with electrician's tape lower seedtray backpack. What do you think? Could this be another version due to repairs on set? Or is it just the lighting that makes it appear all black? To me, it looks like the lower box is not painted blue, and then it is covered with black tape. The corners of the box is clearly showing and you can even see the details on the stacking bump (or whatever its called). Am I right? Any thoughts? Saludos...
  12. Hi Rolf, how are you doing bro? Have a question here... So, its clear why you dont paint your armors and its sounds correct to me, but, can I ask you to explain a bit your hairspray technique when you get to that part of the process? Im very interested in this approach, sounds like a great way to do it. Thanks bro. Saludos...
  13. Yes sir! Imperial style sir!! Well, most people who had seen me are in shock. Must say that women specially. hehe... Some have said that they like it like this better, some liked the dreads better. As always, who can understand women? LOL My girlfriend was very mmm, I dont know how to explain... nervous I guess. Cause she only knew me with dreads. But know she is happy aswell. I do miss my dreads, but Im glad this day came. Dreadlocks had a reason for me, and now it seems that me and them have fulfilled and overpassed that reason. So its time for me to "move along". I know exactly what you mean. Watching each dread grow and all... and knowing them and where and when where they made, and for some of the dreads knowing who made them. Each dread had a meaning, most of them anyway, so for me its kindof growing stronger and wiser. Im kindof still in shock. But happy. THX Here is another pic of before... Saludos...
  14. Just wanted to share with you that yesterday I had my dreadlocks cut off. I asked my grandma to cut them cause since she didnt liked them I thought it would be cool for her and I didn't mind. hehehe. It had been 5 years with them and 7+ years without a haircut, so, it was time. I do feel weird but Its good to feel the wind in my head again. LOL! One of the main pros of this, is that I can finally wear my bucket! (not the main reason for cutting them anyway). So, here are some picts: This is my Grandma... Now my bucket fits! Saludos...
  15. So I re trimmed the eyes, and finished the hand painted details, and used Mikes decals for the ble stripes... I dont know, I am not 100% happy with this. I guess it has more to do with the shape of the helmet rather than with the assembling and detailing, but still... Im just too used to look at hyper cool helmets over here and this one just is not there. Anyway, Im still working on it. So far used the correct colors, techniques, parts, and everything I know... so it doesnt look bad at all. Its just not screen accurate. Thats it. So, what do you think?? Thx for your help. Saludos.
  16. Just impressive! Looking awesome already! Saludos
  17. Hey there bro! How are you doing. Your Td looks great! And that BFG is awesome! Saludos!
  18. I painted the bucket and now started with the detailing. I am painting them with testors enamels, so, eventhough it is a recast and its not the best bucket out there, Im hoping for it to come out good enough... Here are a few pictures... What do you think? Saludos...
  19. Looking great bro! Buen trabajo! Me gusta el weathering. Se ve muy realista! Saludos!
  20. This is just amazing! You are a machine bro! I cant wait to see if finished! Saludos!!
  21. Looking good bro! Once your chest and boots are done, it will look great for sure! Saludos.
  22. It looks great to me. I agree on the eyes looking great! What is the bucket made off? Being this an original sculpt is something to be proud of. I like making my own props whenever I can. And knowing how difficult it is, I can but admire your work! Congrats! And the weathering looks just perfect to me. Good work! Saludos...
  23. Thx a lot bro! Here they are with updated armor and gear... Saludos!!
