Smally
Ok, so we all know that some of the TD backpacks had a piece of very thin wire around the radio face plate but, what was the idea of this and also what sort of wire did they use? And while we're on the subject - what sort of wire do YOU use on your face plate? I have had to replace my wire a few times now as after a while of tightening it and then undoing it (to get to my MP3 player and speaker) it tends to become weak and eventually snap. Any one else have this issue? Cheers all, Smally.
DirtyBoy
Brad, I use a soft aluminum modeling wire. its completely flexible and wont snap on you. Initially i thought it was used as a repair to the move along pack (like the black tape)but then noticed it was on Davins pack (same pack without the tape and the addition of the lab pipe) at the beginning of the filming so my assumption is its there to help keep the radio attached to the trays
ECOLI
Just wanted to say that Dirty Boys packs come with that wire and they are awesome, thanks again.
iconoclasta_88
Yeah... I think the wire was used to fix the radio to the seedtray. I like it a lot and I think those little details turn a good pack into a GREAT pack. Here is my with a Crashmann version 1 radio. Quebectrooper
Those radios must have been heavy and i don't think a little wire would've hold them in place. Especially with the high winds of Tatooine.
Daetrin
It looks like safety wire that we use on aircraft. What gauge are most people using? .040?
