TD1043
Good luck with the surgery! I had hernia surgery when I was in high school, and now my hernia is back (I'm 32). I need to have the surgery done, but I absolutely hate doctors, hospitals and surgery, so I've been putting it off for quite some time. I know I should go and get it taken care of, but just the thought makes me ill.

sl9756
Don't sweat it. I had one repaired a few months ago and everything went well. It was done outpatient and I was out by lunchtime. I laid around on the couch for a week and then went back to my desk job. Avoided it for a long time and then was glad I had it fixed. Nasty scar, though! Good luck. TD-4242
Use a sharpie and write Other side on your good side. I had a friend a couple years ago get operated on the wrong side.
SethB6025
I made it through okay, beforehand a nurse wrote "yes" on the side it was on. No wacky slip-ups! There's nothing like being stuck in bed for a week to make you feel well-rested though!
