pandatrooper
Do you mean the vertical 3 button strip or the 6 rivets on the left side of the torso? Not too sure what you mean by washers?
Quartermaster
I was going to ask the same thing Panda. I think he means the rivets on the side.

Grit
Do you mean the vertical 3 button strip or the 6 rivets on the left side of the torso? pandatrooper
Depends on how accurate you want to be. Some people use aluminum pop rivets, some use smaller female snap heads, etc. The most accurate so far are "flower rivets". Some of the UK garrison and TM use these on their builds. They have a round flower head and and split prongs on the other end that you can insert through a hole in the elastic, through a backing washer then fold the edges over. Right now, I just use 1/8" rivets with a backng washer over the elastic. I figure i can upgrade later.

Pappy
Don't forget for split rivets, better than pop rivets imo and more forgiving for the armor
FIVE
And it's come up now that simple brass "brads" (available at office supply stores) are really the most accurate for the sides. See what I'm talking about on the FISD here...
