TD1149
Cool. Can't wait to see some pictures of it on the armor.
abntroop
are they swappable? aka, pop one color off and slap another 1 on by necessity? Like for official events when we need alot of black enlisted? are these gonna be close enough to cannon to be kosher?
TK8034
Actually, they are swappable. The hard shell is held on by 3 Chicago type screws (flush front and back). You can remove the shell and put a different one on. I had not intended for them to be like that but luckily, they are.

TK8034
I'm not sure what "canon" means. Please elaborate.
tk432
canon mean - screen acuarte. Usually EU doesnt' fall in this catagory either.
TD257
As it pertains to what we do...a costume that strictly adheres to the appearance of the costumes in the Star Wars movies. For instance, pauldrons and armor free of patches and other adornments that weren't seen in the films. The hard plastic pauldrons seen above look really cool, but they weren't in the movies so...not canon.
abntroop
although, even through the movies, the word and concept of "canon" are flexible. maybe not enough to cover those pauldrons, but still, theres alot of loopholes.
TD257
Like most of the armor we all wear isn't 100% screen accurate, but close enough. We just need to make sure we don't get so hung up on "canon" that it becomes a chore and stops becoming fun.
TK8034
It's dress up. We wear a costume that is similar to that used in a popular movie...that's all. It's fun to see how accurate your can be but it's more fun to do things the way George Lucas should have.
abntroop
all the same, I really like the look of those pauldrons, I'd like to try one on with my armor just to see how it looks. I like the idea of it holding it's shape.
SethB6025
I had problems with my black pauldron falling down flat, i stuck a wire hanger in the end of it (like an underwire in a bra) and bent it to the shape i wanted. Now it stays perfect, straight out and curved over my shoulder.
abntroop
sweet, good call. I've been lucky, I havent had any problems, although I've noticed that the problem varies according to the pauldron design. the pauldrons with seam running out over the shoulder bend easier than the pauldrons with no seam out over the colored, unseamed area. TD257
Flat pauldron....there's a joke there somewhere.
abntroop
LOL! , and he's gotta stick a wire in it and now it stays straight and perfect. / ok, back on topic....
SethB6025
Somehow i knew that my pauldron comments would cause the thread to degenerate. Oh well.
TK8034
The pauldron thread just took a dive because my pauldron looked too good. LOL. Anyway, what you did is a good idea.
motman241
I like the idea of that a lot, too. I like the look of it.
