Guest TK-2416
X-mas in July!! Received my TE2 armour today... And I am one happy guy and cant wait to start up... I have planed to take some days off from work and assemble the armour. Thanks to T and his wonderful wife! Even though we have different threads covering the art of assembling armours.. I think we cant have too many So I will make sure to take a lot of pics during the process I hope to move fast, but no rush Process: Trim, sand edges, Novus and weathering it yes correct.. this one is going sandtrooper.. I will copy Rolfs (TD252) process.. Since I am going to weather it, I guess it would be ok to skip the white paint of the armour. Would hate to see it chips off. This is my looong inventory list for making it happen: 1. 4 tubes of E6000 2. Clamps, different sizes 3. Sandpaper - different sheets 4. Dremel 5. Stanley knife 6. Pencils 7. Woodland earth colours 8. Humbrol for the helmet - Mike is assembling it for me and does the white spray paint.. I will paint the details myself.. Black Gloss no. 21, Gray Gloss no. 5, Blue Gloss no. 14 9. Hairspray for the earth colours/weathering 10: Webbing: Belt, band, snaps, straps, velcro (heavy industrial) I will use a stop watch to see how long time the different steps take for a newbie Step 1: First of all I will make sure that all pieces are here.. Step 2: Marking the lines with pencil, scoring, dremel, sand Step 3: Measuring, measuring, final trim, strips and gluing Step 4: Polish the armour using Novus Step 5: Prepare the webbing Step 6: Weathering time Step 7: The Sandy bucket I bought a helmet from Rolf - handpainted and everything.. I think I will convert this to TD.. Still need to think about this - I guess it depends on how glossy the helmet from Mike is gonna be compared to Rolfs. I will make a TD out the one that is less glossy. Therefore this will be the last step (hopefully) in my process. Step 1: Making sure everything is good (of course it is ): Complete delivery - thanks Mr. X!! Step 2 - Trimming etc. OK... started up... pencil used to mark where to cut. I started out with chest, ab, butt, lower and upper bag.. Just used my Dremel.. Will sand the pieces tomorrow and continue with the other pieces... To be continued

Guest TK-2416
Ok guys!! I really love my Dremel.. Dont know what I would have done without it... It is so great.. I haven't even used my Stanley knife!! Dremel all the way!! Todays prorgress so far (only afternoon ): All parts trimmed with the Dremel.. Took me around 7 hours effective... I have taken some pics - Arm pieces Leg pieces Next step sand, sand, sand.... Love my new T-shirt... Gives energy!!
Guest TK-2416
Step 2 - Arm pieces.. A funny thing I noticed is that there is huge difference between the right and left bicep.. Drinking too many heavy beers with just one arm? Same Proces: Use pencil to draw/mark the magic line... Then Dremel.... Where the line is missing (or my eyes not good enough) I first make a dotted line and then a full line..
Guest TK-2416
Step 2 - Leg pieces.. This is an easy part Same procedure as for the arm pieces.. Draw/Mark and Dremel... The Dremel does a great job - think the sanding is going to be fast.... Rough trimmed leg parts: Are the pieces correct matched?:
Guest TK-2416
Step 2 - Misc.. The small parts: Belt, Energy bar (?), diamond kneeplate and hand armor: Some procedure: Draw/mark and Dremel.. The Dremel is soo fast and precise... Still missing.. A bit unsure how much to cut away..

Guest TK-2416
So... sanded: chest, ab, butt, back pieces... Step 2 completed... 8-9 hours work. The other pieces that need gluing will be sanded when ready to glue.. Step 3 - Glue I started up on the arm pieces.. Managed to glue one bicep part and trimmed the other parts, so I am ready to glue tomorrow... I think this is very time consuming due to a lot of measuring and dremel/sand... But I am in no hurry!! Now it is time off... Has been great fun so far... Thanks again Rolf aka TD252 for your back-up More to come.. Tomorrows project: Glue arm pieces, trim and glue leg pieces... Then all the basic is ready...

Guest TK-2416
Today's progres: Step 3 - Measuring, final trimming, strips and gluing... Status: completed - took 8 hours effective The thigh pieces took around 2 hours to get it right.. shin was fast and easy.. But I spend in total some time on measuring.. Measure twice cut once.. I made some lines to cut after - took some few steps, to make sure everything was good.. I have used 2 cm strips for the front and 2,5 cm for the back.. I have good thighs after playing soccer... Stilling missing: Attach the power cells to the lower thigh piece and weathering. I used Novus 3,2 and 1... Ok I guess, but not as shiny as ABS.. Anyway I am going to make him dirty so I'll leave as is... I am happy with the result.. E6000 came out great and all the glued parts seems fine.. Tomorrow is weathering time... Here are some pictures The best thight solution!!: The monster: The sandy knee: A happy TE2 owner:

Guest TK-2416
OK... Completed the Power Cell to the thigh My experience here... Important to measure and measure.. Go slow on the heatgun and measure... Make sure the drilled holes are fine.. not to thight and not to big.. My concern was to crap the armor.. Luckily didnt happen! I used some white silicone to cover the gap on the thigh.. A little bit on the front and some more on the back.. I used white paint, which you use to correct misspellings if you write using ink. (dont know the english word for it)..
Guest TK-2416
Here is the complete TE2 armor: Now it is weathering time... I use Rolf's weathering technique and I use his pictures as reference for my work... More to come
