Great thread Rolf and im loving the armour build

I say go for it with the hunbrol, i painted all my lids with it as you know and after 3 coats it dries hard and is sooo glossy

The good thing with the enamal paint is, as you know, it goes on without leaving any brush marks but it is flexible also.. I can sqaush and flex my hdpe lid without it cracking and coming off. I had to use a tooth pic to weather my move along helmet, no chipping with my finger nail.

And when i painted my TE2 the fragile looking hips changed to a hard thick sturdy helmet.

Im sure you will be happy with the whole suit in the gloss, it would look amazing

I scratch the Humbrol in extra this morning.

I can paint some paint off, but not much.

So its stronger then the Montana, for sure.

I might paint the suit whit it asap.

Cheers

Thanks for all your reply´s bro´s .

In Denmark we got e.g sprit, terpentin and acetone to clean off paint.

Only the acetone can take it off.

I have made a test on some extra trim off hips piece, and the hips don´t care about it.

The Humbrol bind stronger the the hips, but its a long journey to get it off and painted again.

I will let the different paint text dry a few days, to see how they works.

The humbrol are really slow in drying progress...

Lets see, i just might let the first paint job stay on.

I guess some paint will come off, when you troop no matter what to use in the end.

Have a nice weekend out there

acetone!!!! I think thats way over the top mate.

Why not just leave the paint you already have on the suit as a base.sand the whole suit with wet and dry, then go with your humbrol.

The acetone will make one **** of a mess.If your first paint job is good ,smooth then just prep it for the humbrol you are going to use.Go for smooth paper then super smooth that will give you a great key for the final paint.

Thanks for your reply bro.

I did another troop today and some more paint come off the body armor.

The text i have done on extra hips, whit the humbrol is very hard to scratch.

I have been thinking, what the ****.

When the weathering, and hair spray comes on.

Its all rock an roll, nobody will see.

But again, if the Humbrol layers will be all most bullet proof for scratches it will be nice to have.

And i like to give the suit its best look in the end...

Maybe acetone it too strong, maybe light sand paper is better.

Troop on

I went on another small troop today for some kid´s.

The suit its still not there yet, i need to:

Get the SB pauldron home.

New MH/SB kits home, and assemble (got new tupperwear/boyscout frame etc).

Repaint the body armor whit Humbrol 22.

Then weathering.

I have order one more TE2 helmet, there also will be painted whit the Humbrol 22 white.

The E-11, DLT-19, T-21, ww2 pouches is all ready etc to go...

Here are some pictures from today

The TE2 suits is fantastic looking, so accurate i hurts in a good way .

I have troop in it for the second time now, and use public transportation.

And there is still no cracks in the suit.

I was thinking that the TE2 was thinner, but its made out of 2mm.

So its strong, and accurate at the same time.

Here you see the montana paint coming off the belly part.

Today i took the paint off whit acetone.

I work so great, not only it took the paint off whit out damage the armor/plastic.

But it also turn glossy.

So i will not paint the suit, i will just clean it down and let it now stay glossy hips.

That way, no paint will come off when i troop in it.

I also use a small bottle of novus 2 fine scratch remover, to make it more shiny.

Here you see two shots, one whit out flash.

One whit.

On the back there is still paint on.

The *** part is clean whit acetone, and novus.

Here you go .
