RoCKo
****, i didn´t know this very special item even still existed nor it was part of a exhibition... there aren´t too many sandtrooper "artifacts" out there! last year i was so lucky to know the Davin Felth helmet still exists, but this item is kinda sandtrooper history... BTW.: suit and helmet look absolutly amazing, rolf! your skills in armor building grow and grow... great job, bro!
Rolf
Thanks for all your kind replys bro´s . I have used the E6000 glue, so the TD parts will never come off again. So this sweet baby, will be put in the dirt in the start of next week . Question: This is my first TE2 armor, and i love the suit. I have read, that the TE2 kit is made in very thin HIPS. But this one is made out off 2mm thick HIPS. Most of the parts is still about 2mm, and the helmet is solid and strong . One member in my garrison have been trooping at the celebration in US, and seen a few TE/TE2 suits before and feel them. He say mine is way thicker... Maybe TE2 has made this one in thicker HIPS, then he used to . The spray paint i used stay there good on the suit, while trooping. Only a few places, you can see the paint come off. I have re spray the areas again, and i will buy a lacquer spray tomorrow. And spray the suit all over after i have paint the blue tube stripes, to hold the paint strong on the suit there for good. Hope it will work out good. Cheers .

Rolf
Thanks for all your kind words bro´s . I like to move fast, and enjoy the work after. I have been painting for a life time, and i all ways work fast. I don´t like to be hold up, but i like to move forward in one speed to its goal. Then enjoy the result . I know a few troops, here in denmark. There have got armors for over a year, but they don´t work on them. I think its a shame, i wanna show respect to the suit. And bring it to life as fast as i can, and still enjoy the progress. Once again, thanks for all your lovely replys. Your mepd troops are the best . TK7036
Never seen you looked so clean before! Time to do the dirty thing. You move too fast I totally missed out on your strapping technique. I can't believe you troop it so soon. How does it feel with the fresh paint smell in the bucket? Since you wore the suit, do you mind a brief comparison between the TE2 and TM? So far I know you are the only lucky ******* who owns both. Fantastic work bro! Thanks for sharing.

It was a fun to assemble it, and a great joy to enjoy the suit so quick . The TM is fan made, but he´s work is so great that it looks like the real deal. There is a few details on the TE/TE2 modify from rotj to anh missing right. The TM suit have them correct, like 11 holes left arm 12 right. String in the small belly tk 4 dot, td 3 dot area. The shoulders different, one goes down. The other out, like in anh... Many small details. I will say a mix between them, will be the most accurate suit as the scene looks now . dutchy
You probably have weathered him by now..knowing the speed you work at Can't wait to see the finished armor, all weathered and looking bad ***
Rolf
You probably have weathered him by now..knowing the speed you work at Can't wait to see the finished armor, all weathered and looking bad *** All most . I try some lacquer, on a extra painted plastic trim off piece. To see if it will hold the paint on 100%, but the paint was still stronger whit out the lacquer on... I might try another brand, before it weather it. But at the same time, i´m not sure if the lacquer will hold it stronger. So i might just go dirty real soon on him

I hope I can do something so thorough. I was thinking about the laquer options as I was going to paint the suit. Have you thought about a professional two part spray? I recently made some MDF kitchen doors and had them sprayed. The finish is as tough as boots. They do all RAL colours and clear too. THey mentioned they can laquer any material including plastic. Rolf
Copy that, i think you can all ways get some paint off if you really want to. Use sharp items/scratches etc. There is lacquer in spray paint, some brands have more in them them others. So i was thinking, it might hold even a bit better whit a pure lacquer layer on top of it all or C-ya
Rolf
I have been looking for a best/strongest spray paint, for the suit. I ended up whit the spray paint, Montana. But to begin whit, i was thinking off hand brush paint the body armor whit Humbrol white. The same item we paint our helmets whit. In a way i think it will hold on better/stronger, then most of the spray cans out there. What do you think . Troop on
nico
From what i understand the helmet is supposed to be a slightly different color than the rest of the armor, at least for TKs? Not sure if it is the same with TD. But as long as you don`t get brush strokes when applying the paint it should look good! I am sure that whatever you do it will turn out great in the end, as usual with your armors! Can`t wait for more pictures!

Thanks bro The body armor and hero helmets was ABS, the stunt helmets painted HDPE once. So they have another white tone. I just made a test on some hips, the looks of it is perfect. I use white gloss 22, and you can´t see the brush strokes in it. Looks like it spray on . If its stronger then spray paint, i go for it . I will scratch on it tomorrow, when its dry
