TK-1755
Explosive News! #1 Honorary Trooper of the MEPD, Anthony Forrest, the "Original Sandtrooper", has confirmed that he will parade with SoCalGarrison in Laguna Niguel Saturday Dec. 8! Any MEPD want to be his Personal Escort? I know you officers have worked hard to be Deployed MEPD. So if your in the vicinity, wear your dirt with pride, and join Anthony in the Parade next Saturday. Charity, Parade, TV all rolled into one exciting OC event!! Event: Laguna Niguel Christmas Parade Date: Saturday, December 8, 10AM-1PM (depending on parade position) Theme: "Reaching for the Stars" Route: 1 Mile stretch down Crown Valley Parkway Staging Area: Yes Return Shuttle: Yes Parade Float for Droids: Yes Media: Cox Channel 3 to be aired several times. Let's close this unforgettable year the same way we started it: With a Parade! {SMILIES_PATH}/salute.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/salute.gif The 501st Legion has been invited to be one of the featured entries in the Laguna Niguel Christmas Parade! This year the theme is "Reaching for the Stars" so the parade promoters specifically wanted us to share our celebration our STAR WARS. They loved us in the Rose Parade, and they were really impressed with our trooping at Legoland. From the Laguna Niguel Christmas Parade Website: Generations of families will gather along Crown Valley Parkway on a peaceful and brilliant Saturday to watch the largest and most creative display of community in the City's history! This year, the parade is filled with beautiful equestrian units, patriotic and inspirational military tributes, spirit filled youth groups, classic auto clubs, talented marching bands and some of the biggest attractions in the nation! Also included in the mix of fun and eclectic entries are this year's Celebrity Grand Marshals: actors Robert Hays (Airplane I and II), Kate Flannery (NBC's The Office) & Major League Baseball legend, Tommy Lasorda. Last year the parade hosted Toys-for-Tots. This year, we can help with that and/or have our own collection point at the photo-op area called the "FUN ZONE". We also have the opportunity to have a short lightsaber battles in front of the grand stand and cameras. In addition to the H-Wing, we'll have a float in which droids, jawas and ewoks will be comfy (if they didn't want to do the 1 mile trek). Rebel Legion is also invited. 2007: What a Year! The Circle Is Now Complete! Your Empire Needs You: Enlist Now . . . and I'll see you in the Line-Up! {SMILIES_PATH}/salute.gif

Hellraiser
WOW! What a thrill... Acted as one of two sandtrooper escorts (me, TD-4165 and Anthony Bailey, TD-8267) for Mr. Forrest today at the Laguna Niguel, CA Christmas Parade. As a proud MEPD officer I considered it my duty to do so.... The legendary 'Move along...' trooper was just fantastic to talk with. A nicer man you could not meet. I had forgotten just how much fun these events can be. My 2008 New Years resolution: Make time for more events.
