Rolf
I also got the wien pounches. But look at the ends of the ends of the curve, going over the metal dot. Wien stolla ends sharp. The ones in anh are cut more round ends. Do you guys think they use the wien stolla pounches in anh. And cut there ends, to make them more there own for the movie... or what?. Here is a link of what i´m talking about. http://www.looksirdroids.com/replica_pouches.htm Peace out. Rolf
Vaj
I have some stollas also. I think in the pics of your link it just looks rounded due to the bad image quality. Have you another pic?

dirtydave
I always thought the ANH pouches look a little different then stolla wien. The ANH pouches look longer and the bottom of each mag tube is not as square.Maybe they were cheap nockoffs/

Rolf
Please don´t let this thread die. Let us found out whit they use on there left and right hips. For some years i have been thinking if they are the norway mp 40 pounches, maybe they just cut the leather higher up to the metal dots?. Or do the metal dots sit to high up to be them?. Or maybe its just the mp 38/40 wien stolla 1942 ww2, cut up to the metal dots too?. (but in a way the wien stolla looks to small to me, as the anh pounches?) What do you think/know?. Regards. Vaj
I agree the pouches are similar to the norwegian ones but weren't the film used ones not a bit longer? Possibly someone told us they always used stollas because there was one used which is definitely a Stolla but different. Maybe they reproduced the stollas which were as easiest to make and the result were pouches that can't be squared because they never had magazines in it. ( sorry for language ...early in the morning here in germany ;P ) Marcus

Kimelius
I cant help with the origin of the pouch but.. When I look at the norwegian pouch, it looks like its substantially shorter than those screen used. Those hip pouches(as pictured) look almost too long for mp40 mags to be removed from them. If these pouches were made by the props dept, perhaps they were made longer to fill in the armour gap of the upper thigh area?

But LFL prop made back then If so, maybe we have to replica them for a sale
Rolf
Well its been about two week now, and not so many replys on it. I guess they might been wien stolla in anh. Maybe trim/cut them round in the ends over the dots. The size seems almost the same too.
freakengine
Rolf, I think the rounded corners could just be due to actual use. If the pouches in ANH saw active duty, I think it's possible that the corners were simply mashed down so they don't appear to be sharp. Of course, this doesn't explain the apparent length issues.
