clutch
I have 4 kits left over... BTW, Tim, what is your opinion on the weight? I like to hear different people's opinions. Any other thoughts on it? Areas of improvement? Thanks.
godzilla
The weights pretty good. I would not want it any heavier. The cast is very nice and seam clean up is reasonable. One thing that could have been better is the way they cast the charging handle. They ran the mold line down the side of the handle. So when you go to sand down the seam that is there you kill the subtle pattern that is on the handle. Other than that, so far everythings sweet. Rolf
very sweet Dlt-19 you got there . I got the sci-fire one, and love the gun. But i love the holes on the pipe, mine dont got that. Once again VERY!!! sweet weapon
clutch
Thanks for the input! Yeah, I agree, the seam going around the checkered pattern on the handle sucks. I don't know any other way he could have cast it though. I've found some other bits that work well when prepping this thing. I'll probably start a thread on my progress. steve12201
I got mine and started working on it. Happy so far! I'm getting around to the point where I am going to have to drill the holes in the resin for the PVC pipes that are sticking out. Two questions: 1- Should I trim the PVC to a specific length where it sticks out....say 1 or 2"? 2- What would be the best way to drill 1/2" holes in the resin to mate up with the male PVC parts? I don't want to crack anything or cut a crooked hole. Thanks, Steve
godzilla
You wont crack the resin. Use a 7/8 spade dril bit for the holes. If they run big no big deal just smoosh some plumbers epoxy putty in the hole. I set mine with 5 min epoxy when done. Tim
steve12201
Sweet. Did you use a drill press or just kind of wing it. I don't want to get off center any. Steve
