Finally, I feel confident that I am ready for the 501st/Garrison Carida and MEPD. I put in my 501st application. As soon as I get my ID, I will be requesting MEPD deployment as well. I always believed that I wasn't ready for the 501st until I was "official" for the MEPD too . Here are some pics my buddy took of me suited up. It's an AP suit, SB/MH pack, T-21 with a couple of mods that I purchased from TD-427, Sitharmor pouches, and a GA Pauldron. I feel like a 10 year old waiting for my ID#, whoo hoo! Hope you guys like the pics !!!

Well done Harry - Great looking Sandtrooper (AP armor), Backpack, weathering and your long awaited T-21 BFG. I sincerely agree with you on the part on being ready for the 501st only when you're official for the MEPD.

Your pics are truly inspiring. Remember that when the day your Snowtrooper costume is ready, please do strike these poses on the Snow too.

TD-427 told me he purchased it by "blasterbuilders". I believe they have the website with the MG-34 scratch templates. I've never scene a Lewis on the web anywhere like mine. The receiver is totally hand carved out of wood. I think the barrel is PVC and bondo'd for the tapered end. There is another inner barrel that runs through the "big" barrel and connects to the wooden receiver. I was impressed by his pics on the RPF but was even more impressed when I received it in the mail. I love it!

I added a swivel for the sling. I didn't like how it was originally mounted. The originator had it connected by the brass butt plate. I also added the "fins" that are between the barrel and receiver. It lacked that detail. The rear sight and brass butt plate appear to be real Lewis parts. The rear sight was mounted backwards so corrected that too. Here is a pic before the two mods as I received it.

Do you have info on your Lewis Gun?

Here are a few more pics I had taken that day (a left and right). Since the pics, I have shortened/tightened the elastic strapping that holds the shoulder bells in place. The backpack strapping was pulling back on it pretty bad. The problem is fixed now .

Also, If you notice in my left pic, the beestinger is too far back under the pack and actually rubs against my butt armor. This is old news but thought I would point it out . I've since fixed this problem by removing it and making a swivel from the bottom of a 2 qt tupperware pitcher, a bolt and a nut. I will post a pic of the beestinger/swivel when I get back to work. My pack is currently there in storage.

I also posted a pic of my AP helmet interior to give fellow TDs some ideas....

I used some left over ACH helmet padding for the interior of my AP helmet. I'm not sure if you can purchase it but here is a pic of what it looks like in an ACH helmet...if your interested do a google search for ACH helmet or ACH helmet padding. It's applied to the helmet with velcro "circles".

I finally got around to constructing a PVC mannequin. I have to fill in around the thighs, adjust the biceps, etc to give it more of a "human shape" so to speak...anywho here is a pic. Materials cost me around $25 at Home Depot. I'd like to make a nice sturdy base so the pack and Lewis can be displayed too. How's it look so far?

I made a PVC mannequin once, and it never worked out for me... just too 'fake' looking. Then I bought a real mannequin off ebay for $150. It was ok, but difficult to dress and still did not look real enough for me.

I'd like to eventually get those posable ones that cost upwards of $300, but yeah... that's a lot of cash.

And it freaks out the misses.
