steve12201
I've been looking around the threads, but I haven't seen much talk about footwear. Anyone have any suggestions for good comfortable trooping boots that have the appropriate heel. I see them on eBay periodically but have been a little afraid to buy boots without actually trying them on. You never know if the sizes will be right or if they will "work" with the armor. Any brands to stay away from? Steve
Pen66
I'm pretty new here as well Steve but from what I have found CA seems to have a decent boot. http://caboots.zoovy.com/category/d/
TD-4510
Thats pretty much your only choice. There is a guy over on the RPF who's found the actual boot (he thinks). problem is its only available in black.
Tyranus
The original boots WERE black. They were spray-painted white . . . which is fine for filming for a few weeks/months, but for trooping year in and year out CABOOTS is the way to go. Ross had his Sandtrooper boots modded to have a better sole: Great work, Ross!
steve12201
Excellent, Thank you. Are the sizes pretty accurate? I wear a 10 1/2 to 11 depending on the way they are made. Just don't want to be too tight or too loose. Steve
noodle3
As an alternative to CA & from the searching I have done these appear close to accurate to the film. Made of leather, High ancle & that all important Hard sole, they just need moding white. If there's a retailer by you that sell's them good luck. www.loake.co.uk Pictured above are Loake's Chealsea boot's, a UK brand but is sold internationally if you can find them!!!. unfortunatly I could not sorce any on this side of the planet so made do with Timberland & some paint, but at least threir comfy.
