RoCKo
i followed Brak´sBuddy`s great wathering tutorial. here is the link to it: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/davin/replica_weathering.htm the Scenic colors are just great to weather a suit! unfortunatly there was no chance to get Fuller´s Earth here in germany, so i just did my weathering without it! if you´re going to use Brak´s weathering tutorial i suggest starting with the upper backplate. it is one of the armor parts with edged sections and also with smooth sections. so there is a lot of space to try out. for me the weathering job has been a nearly three weeks journey, while spending one or two hours a day. and it was A LOT OF FUN! the most important thing is to take your time! there were parts of my armor like the upper legs which really bugged me. but after all i´m very happy with the result! RoCKo
here are some close-up shots of my weathering. this time with my AP helmet and a little darker so the colors of the weathering can be seen better. and one with the Gino helmet again... RoCKo
Brak´sBuddys site is one of my altime favorites! his knowledge about sandtroopers is unreached and his site is just a awesome summary. if your looking for a ultimate picture resource i highly recommend one of his sandtrooper cd also! another great resource site with lots of tutorials is Chris´s site. go right here: http://www.tk409.com/ he also has a great weathering tutorial using craft/tempera paint. if your going for the screenaccurate look this might be the more accurate weathering technique too.
