Lou210
Hello I'm TK11006 and I've decided to ditch the look of a shiney TK and dirty up my armor and become a Sand trooper!!! Here is my armor at the moment waiting on my pauldron, knee plate, ammo pouches, and 3 ab button plate to arrive then the modding will begin Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
So today I found out I wouldn't be able to make it to a local troop this coming Saturday, I then decided what a great chance to get started on my Sand Trooper Sergeant build!! I started with removing shoulder bridges, ab button plates, knee plates, and drop boxes. I also started weathering a few parts of my armor with acrylic what do you guys think this is about only two different colors I believe..burnt umber and a color called unbleached titanium it's a sand color. This is only with two passes. Please let me know what you guys think so far?
Hausi
Hi and welcome to the dirtpit I already like it! If some of the areas in between the dirt are still too white and shiny, give it a wash with a watered down mixture of the earth colour.
DarthStevius
Hooray, another shiny sees sense welcome to the sandy side bro and good luck with the build/re-build
Lou210
Hooray, another shiny sees sense welcome to the sandy side bro and good luck with the build/re-buildThanks guys! Yeah after seeing pictures after troops and at events I was like man TKs are kind of boring and I wanted something that sticks out alittle more. Also there aren't that many Sandy's in my area (Colorado). I've always liked either tantive 5 boarding party TKs or the sand troopers never really cared for the stormtroopers in the other two OT moviesSent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
Here is both arms and chest with alittle more weathering I used a Mix of unbleached titanium (lighttancolor) and yellow ocre and got this look still not sure if I like it what do you guys think???Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Wook1138
You are doing a great job with this. I like how you are using the lighter colours to keep it subtle.

Lou210
Thanks guys this is pretty fun but didn't release how much method to the madness there was with weathering hahaSent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
Look what came in the mail today! My white pauldron and small spainish pouches Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
Added alittle more to part of the chest and some on the pauldron.. just taking my time but I also don't want the weathering to extreme. idk if it's me but when I initially used the burnt umber it's came out too dark and reminded me of mud so I haven't gone back to that color quite yet I've been sticking with a mix of primarily unbleached titanium(sand like color), yellow ocre, and a little bit of burnt umber and I feel the color is close to desert looking grime and caked up sandSent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
So heres some pics of the burnt umber on the shin piece compared to the just sand like mix I made for the chest and arms piece Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
Today I started weathering the abdomen, belt, and small spainish pouches.. here how it looks Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
LoveMonkey
Weathering is off to a great start. I like the color as it has that "sand" look to it. My opinion, and this is just me, is that the weathering should be heavier on the boots/legs and lighter on the way up. The chest/arms won't have as much direct contact with sand as the legs and boots. You might consider removing just a little but it's looking good. The good thing about acrylics is I can remove it at any time so I've been removing little by little but I did finish the legs today so let me know what you think.Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Hausi
I think it looks good and natural, well done. But keep in mind that the small Spanish pouches should be hanging from the belt (below the belt) , not directly be attached to it.

Hausi
Here´s a behind the screen shot of said trooper in which you can see that the pouch is somehow attached hanging from the belt: I have used snaps, I cut the belt open on the inside, attached the two snaps and closed it using E6000. I originally had a D-ring to hold the pouch to a loop with the snaps but the ring came off while trooping and a friend gave me a zip-tie to attach it again... and as it holds well enough, I stuck with it. Hope this helps!

Hope this helps! Thanks alot I took your idea of using the zip ties and it worked out great! I used black elastic strips and sewed a loop for the zip tie to go thru and tie to the leather loop on the pouch, then I super glued the other end of the elastic to the inside of the belt Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Lou210
Today I removed my decals on the helmet and hand painted all the gray areas on the helmet and after that was complete I weathered the helmet:) The only parts I am waiting on is my diamond knee plate and ab buttons from ata and then I will submit my pictures to my GML for basic approval since I don't have a weapon or pack yet:( Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
