Hi Chris,

it is a pleasure to see you again, right after your PO submission...great!!

Befor I can start the review (i already had a first look;-) ) i just need some additional pictures from you

- full body shot front without the pauldron

- left and right full body shot without the pauldron

That would be great!!

Hi Chris! (sorry for the blue lettering! But I have some script Problems here in the Office. For a better readability I will Change the comment Color at home, ok?)

The SWAT program is the toughest one in the entire legion. We sandtroopers take pride in trying to achieve the highest accuracy possible to resemble those troopers seen on screen. Against this backdrop, there are sometimes tough decisions to be made balancing accuracy against overall appearance and fit of the trooper to be emulated.

After internal SWAT panel discussions, we have decided that your chest and back armor is too small for your frame and differs significantly from the Docking Bay Captain as seen on screen and thus is not eligible for SWAT approval.

Having said this, there is an option for you if you are willing to take this route. The AP armor is usually worn by rather lean guys providing a good fit if you're not too build. In your case however there are other vendors who make armor that will provide a much better fit for tall guys. So my advice would be to contact one of them and ask if they would be willing to provide you with a replacement for chest and back armor only (they usually do).

However I will start with the Review because there are some more notes except the armor size...and I like to show you some example pictures to support you!

Alright Chris?

So let's start......

Alright Chris!

This was the first Review. Like I said in the beginning: your upper armor is too small as seen on screen and thus is not eligible for SWAT approval.

Take care Brother and if you need more advice or some help I will be there for you!

Cheers,

Felix

Thanks for the review Felix & SWAT panel members,

I have decided i will not be proceeding with SWAT. After the comments provided about the size of the upper armor, i have deemed that im not small enough to do this. Cost is unfortunately a factor. Thanks again for the kind words.

Chris, contact AM: trooper gear at gmail dot com and they can hook you up with larger chest and back. New pieces and a little weathering, you got this!

Thanks for the words brother..

Chris, I can completely understand your frustration and disapointment. We have had a lot of internal discussions about this and by the scope and depth of the review you can see that we did not take this decision lighthearted. You are a deployed Police Officer of the MEPD and even half of the CS are not SWAT approved so there's definitively no shame in that!

If you do decide to continue on this route we will be here for you brother!

Cheers

Strider,

I do understand. I'm not frustrated with the panel at all, its more the armor maker. I asked him 3 times if the kits could fit and each time he said "YES" (still have all the emails). Get the armor built and find out doing a TK was impossible for this reason. There is no shame in admitting defeat and realising that a goal is no longer reachable & I'm OK with that.

Honestly I should have bought am AM2.0 armor in the start. Getting swindled by a respected builder was not a thought in my mind when i was first looking into doing this. Old saying is "you live and learn" and i will say i have learned quite a bit after receiving my armor back in January.

Again thanks for the kind words, also the hard decision that had to be made by you guys. I do understand the details have to be perfect.. After i was asked for picture with out pauldron i knew something was up...

*Update*

Thanks to several people (you know who your are  ) for measurement assistance on several different armor types, there will be a revision to this, but it will be quite a while before parts can be acquired. Unfortunately getting the parts in the size i need is not easy. I can buy an entire kit, but doesn't make sense. I will just have to wait until parts come up...

Thanks again for the support.

Hi Chris!

great to see you back again!! Now the armor fits much better than before - I am happy!

But you know that the SWAT program is the toughest one in the entire Legion and I found some new issues.

BUT: you will never walk alone and I will give you the best support I can!!

So let's start......

This bucket is really tough to replicate because we have tons of reference shots from the original. I know that you already know this side http://starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-stop-that-ship-helmet.htm. This is the best helmet support side I know (and as well the only one)!

But now the two main issues I found:

Number of teeth

Number%20of%20teeth_zps7zntwfrc.jpg

Close the two opend teeth with green stuff or something similar and paint them grey again.

Weathering / repair spot

Softer_Smoother_zps2dtmpkas.jpg

You are on the right way - just try to make these to lines a little bit smoother and thinner.

Why did you change your chest weathering so radical??:-( You were on the right way bro with your first attempt!

I made some screen shots of your old weathering, your new one and of two references. One reference is from our SWAT member Strider (another trooper but the same chest armor) because he matched the details nearly 100%. You can ask him about his technique...he is a smart and kind guy and a great supporter!

Now the second review is done! Yes you have some open issues and some homework BUT the main issue is fixed: your armor!

If you need any advice and support you will find it right here...in the MEPD!

Cheers bro and good luck!

Felix
