In fact, replacing all your kit supplied velcro with industrial velcro is a good idea. A bit of an investment for sure, but I've found it works much better and lasts much longer.

I've had very good luck with the industrial velcro too. You want to sand the area where it's applied before sticking it down, and the use of CA glue (crazy glue, super glue, etc.) is a good suggestion too. If you cut the industrial velcro with scissors, you'll need to clean the adhesive off the scissors periodically using WD40. It's tenacious, but it will come off.
