Jancelot
I figured I'd start a dedicated thread for my pack build. It's been in progress for awhile, but I had a long hiatus during renovation work on our house. While the pack is mostly based on the #2 build, I'm choosing to use the radio face place instead of the faux one. Upper box items loosely laid out. Jancelot
For the hose connection box, I ordered a 2.5" x 3" x 1.5" project box and clipped the wings off. That said, I think it might be a bit large. I'm going to trim the depth down to 1". But I'm also going to try a 2.5" squared or even 2". DirtyBoy
off to a great start man. my only suggestion would be to look at the "wet wipe" bottles and trim them down...up to you though brother
Jancelot
hey, thanks. trim the length/height?
DirtyBoy
No prob...I'm on the road but if you pull the reference shot on the pack you'll see what I mean. I feel like they are about 5" but not positive
Jancelot
Ah, I see what you mean. This ref pic shows the relative heights nicely:
Jancelot
I cut the wet wipes bottle down a bit. The mushroom top now sits just above the lower left box per the photo above. Overall, while it looks like the proportions aren't correct, I'm trying to keep the general alignment intact. I took a half inch off the hose connector project box height and it fits much better. Made a new back plate for it. Kept the two small screws at the top for access. Hole in the top: Hose test fitting. I need to cut the length down and shape it more. Is it supposed to be all black? To take pressure off of the bottle top, I used washers for spacers. I want to find/make a better solution, though. Perhaps even small blocks of wood painted black. Jancelot
In order to get the bolts in the cistern, our garrison CO had the idea to use a magnet to slide it down. It took a few tries for each, especially the far one, but worked great. I used the same method for my side tube. Repurposed the back of the radar dish lid for the inner cistern support. It's a rough "round-ish" shape, but it won't be seen anyway.

Jancelot
The bottom blue bottle looks too long. Hmm. I'll shorten that one as well. Although I could take a both more off of the top one. Thoughts?

Jancelot
More progress on the radio. I plan on a Raspberry Pi or Arduino solution for sound loop. Mostly because I want to mess around with them.
