Hello,

I'm Parker. I just recently went to SWC in Anaheim and had a blast. I went with my friend and his 5 year old son, who was dressed as a Trooper. He probably took pictures with every trooper in the 501st that was there. Everyone was really friendly, you guys were great. I've always wanted trooper armor and this last weekend really pushed it over the top.

After going over the costumes, it was a pretty easy choice. I want to be a Sandtrooper. After some reading on armor I feel like I'm on the border between the normal and larger armor. I'd like the first set I get to be one that I can take all the way to SWAT. I'm 6ft and weigh 225. Whats is going to be best for my size, and which one for my size is the most accurate?

The local Garrison in my area is the Central California. I registered for the website but haven't heard anything back. Not sure if I can join without being a member of the 501st. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Hi Parker!!! Glad you've chose the dirty path to the coolest detachment of the 501st!!!

Sure thing you can become a member. So you've done your diligence. To me here's a quick due list:

1. Hit Imperial issued armor will find my link tomorrow on my comp for trusted vendors if not a fellow brother will post it.

2. Once you decide which TD you want to emulate or if you decide to do your personal flavor, then you are legible for your local Garrison revision.

3. Done that apply to the 501st. After you become accepted your status here will change to Sandtrooper.

4. Then request deployment and last but not lest invite me for a pint at the Cantina 😄😄😄

Hope I've pointed you in the right direction. Ask tons of questions. Might want to check ATA, TK, or RS armor depending on your budget 😉

Welcome man!!

Follow Sandman Tigui's steps and, in addition to his #1, you can check out my Armor 101 page as well.

Have fun!

And YAY!

Dude! This is great! I got myself a ata and i am very happy with it. I disagree when you say it's the best choice but that is just personal taste/location etc. But most bang for the buck is totally ata!

Great website :)

Thanks man!

And I think ATA is the best choice because of his quality of plastic, price, accuracy (especially his bumpy cap bucket!), but many people disagree with me. B) And if you ask me for a different criteria I'd have a different answer.

hahaha

Regardless, thanks! And WELCOME! :D

1. I've read the FISD sticky and a few others. Noel's was the first thing I actually read and why I have a question about what size armor I should get. Under the AM armor (have also read RT is good for big guys) that some one over 6' and 230 should get the larger. Im basically 6' and 230 (I tend to be between 220-230). So it seems I'm on the line, just curious for someone on the cusp would it be better to get normal sized armor or the larger type.

2. Captain Cantina Version is what Im going for, the more pouches the better. They look really cool. It was a hard choice between the M15 and M34. So I can join the local before I have a set of armor? Should I contact local GML?

Thanks for the Help

One last thing, I'm really tempted to order the Anovos Kit. What I read on FISD the soft good and helmet alone make it worth it to buy at $350. But no one really knows what they will be getting it and when.
