DontWashMeTrooper
Hi Guys, I am having a heck of a time finding a faucet cover for the bottom piece on the backpack. I have purchased two different ones, "frost king" brand, on Amazon etc. The picture on the internet shows the correct oval shape but when it arrives, it's a more square one. Any ideas? Thanks
bdgr
Yes. Those are now super hard to find. I think someone talked about trying to mold the oval faucet cover, but haven't heard anything for awhile. Best of luck trying to hunt one down. kayelbe
Don't even bother ordering from the internet....I was burned THREE TIMES, including TWICE when I called and explicitly asked if the item pictured was the item in stock. Each time (three different vendors), the pyramid ones showed up.
BroadSword
Question........ wouldn't this be fairly simple to vacu-form?? Does anyone within the Department have any abilities to vacu-form or know someone who does??
TrainWreck
From my understanding someone was concerned that the vacuuform pull would be too long and would have some issues with the integrity of the plastic. I got really lucky and found mine on the side of the road...

crashmann
Read the second customer review. Like others have stated, what you see on the Internet is not what you get!
kayelbe
Like I said, I even went so far as to contact the seller(S!) and they reassured me it matched the description....they didn't.
DirtyBoy
Exactly....they say they have the ones we are looking for but the version they ship is the new style.
DontWashMeTrooper
I something at Target that might work. It's a OXO SoftWorks POP container. 1.5L. It's 6" X 4" at the mouth and tapers a little on the way down. It's 5.5" tall. I'll post pictures when I tweak it a bit and paint it. Baron
I plan on casting mine and try to pull it. With Celebration coming up, it has been difficult to balance stuff I wanna do with stuff I HAVE to do with all the orders we have doing X-Wing stuff. I will try to cast it this week and see how it pulls. Just picked up some plastic to pull chest boxes. I will post here the results.... bdgr
Here's a link: http://www.target.com/p/container-1-5qt-rectangle-clear/-/A-15295147#prodSlot=medium_1_10&term=oxo+pop+container --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It looks a little to boxy or rectangular to me versus an oval shape. IMHO, I think it would be too hard to modify to make it look more accurate.
bdgr
How about the following large oval bottles? https://www.google.com/shopping/product/19385508123653045?q=johnson The above link has a nice 3-D view. It is readily available, has a nice canteen shape, and comes in large 828 mL or 1 L sizes. Add the bee sting and it might work.

rawktrooper
me to the third. So what is being used if no one can find the right one?
crashmann
Since the troopers were going in the desert, I believe the prop builders used canteens for the stinger, and not faucet covers. I've got vacuum formed canteen kits that require a bit of assembly: You can find them in this for sale thread: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=13661 Charlie
