murray1134
I've spent the last few weeks (slowly) converting my current TK over to a TD. It's my original FX suit from 2008, 5 years of trooping has worn this suit out, figured it was time for a change. I got some RT thighs and shins to replace my FX ones. Progress so far:
Gordonator
Always nice to see a TK convert. Is your helmet FX as well?
murray1134
I got rid of my FX helmet a long time ago. I have an MRCE now.

murray1134
I'm probably spending too much time obsessing over the weathering. I'm not sure if it's too dirty.
murray1134
I took some of the weathering down. Is this looking better? I'm happier with this, but I don't know if I've got it yet.
murray1134
Most of the weathering is now complete. Still need to order a pauldron and pouches, finish weathering my shoes and helmet, and make my canvas shoulder straps. Here is my first test fit with the new legs and weathering. Not sure what is going on with my thigh piece in this picture
Sandman Tigui
Maybe it's the angle of the pic. Have you tried straighten the inner thigh system to your waist?
murray1134
Had to order new decals for my helmet. Trying to hand paint them turned into a mess, so I just ordered a new set from Trooperbay. Got the new decals and weathering done on the bucket. All that is left is weathering my boots and ordering the pauldron and pouches.
murray1134
Weathered my boots.
murray1134
Pauldron arrived, so I had to do a test fitting. It's been far too long since I've worn everything.
Captain Jack
Looking good man. I had a hard time messing with my weathering as well. Not as easy as it seems. Great job.
murray1134
Had my first troop with this modified rig on Friday night. It worked pretty well, although I did notice a problem with my knee plate causing a pinch on my knee (and that hurts a lot!) between my knee plate and my thigh piece. I do have to figure out a better way to have everything sit, maybe a piece of foam at the knee? Still need to order my pouches and make my shoulder straps. Also, I miss my holster, after a few hours of holding my blaster, it started to get really heavy. Maybe TKs are too soft and need to toughen up a bit. lol.
