SCRIBBLER
Hi, Frank, Thank you for submitting your request for SWAT Activation. Although you have chosen a very popular TD for the process, it is always great to see different interpretations on the design and yours looks to be very exceptional. With that said, there may be a few tweaks that need to be taken care of. Details that need to be even more fine tuned in comparison to the standard Deployed Officer. We always stress patience during this process Let's begin... rhapsodyred99
Please submit a close up pic of your left hand glove and guard. Preferably a top shot. Need to verify detail. Good lord, I have been using this shot for reference on the left handguard: (this is a pic from a previous weather version but you get the idea) totally missing the obvious reference photo you posted that shows prebreak he had a totaly different handguard! all I can say is DO'OH! is my face red..... Not a disaster however, because I got a second set of Karin's handguards just in case I did something disasterous to the first set, so in theory it should be as simple as weathering up the correct handguard. As far as the pack goes, that will take some thought as when the pack is flat the trays are touching. It is when I put it on the PVC frame flexes over my back and causes an inch or two gap. I will need to experiment with preflexing and redoing the trays, or stiffening up the frame, or a combo of both. Just will take a little thought to work out. As far as the tape, easy to move that no worries there. Thanks for the comments so far, I will start working on the mods once I get back into town and hopefully will have some new pics up as soon as I can. SCRIBBLER
No worries, Brother! Just a couple of tweaks is all. You're almost there and right on track for SWAT Activation. rhapsodyred99
Thanks guys! I ended up completely removing the lower tray from the frame, removing the radio, siphon and old tape. I then retaped hopefully more inline with the canon and reassembled it all and got rid of any gap in the trays. I was not able to book Roscoe to help out, but hopefully this will pass muster (love your posts Oscar!) Hopefully this was what was needed. rhapsodyred99
I worked hard to get it right from the start of the TK-TD conversion. I could not have done it without the help and support found here. I knew how to build a TK (as my sig implies), but would have never been able to pull off an accurate build without my brothers here. If the process goes fast you have only yourselves to blame for being so darn good at pointing me in the right direction...

iconoclasta_88
Awesome! A lot has been said about building an armor to SWAT in one try vs correcting it over time. Your build shows once more that doing things from the first time always pays off!!! Congrats bro. You have an awesome armor. An awesome Sandtrooper. This is my same choice, and I can spot an upgrade or two I need to make. The bar goes higher with every submission no doubt. Thx for sharing and inspiring us. Congrats on your build. Saludos. Juan. Vf2112
Am I wrong or aren't BOTH hand plates supposed to be backwards on this trooper?
rhapsodyred99
They are both backwards on the post break version seen in this pic: But on the pre break version he has this left handplate: I had originally had both plates on backwards because I was using the first pic as a reference, but after seeing the second pic I realized my mistake since I was going for the pre break look and redid the left glove. Thank you so much for the kind words. It is a great feeling of satisfaction to know your hard work paid off. I honestly never would have been able to even attempt this conversion if not for the direct help and feedback , and very helpful threads posted by the MEPD Brotherhood. I am so proud to be a part of this community. I wimped out and chose a popular well documented TD, but for all my life when I have thought of Sandtroopers, I have thought the lines "Move along, move along".....(ok, ok and "look sir droids!" ) When I decided to get dirty, I knew I wanted SWAT level. Before I put any dirt on the armor I poured over helmet shots and pack/pouch configurations, and kept comming back to the Iconic Move along...Move along....Sometimes ya gotta go with what keeps hitten ya in the head ya know? Thanks again all...I eagerly await official comments. I know real life comes first, so no worries
