  2. Welcome! Not to toot my own horn, but I invite you to check out my web site, too. Just as much info - and then some - as tk409. www.tk1536.com

    voice amp

Sure, use this source as a place to start. http://www.gothos.com/tk5248/mod1.html I'd never used a soldering iron before I tried this, so it took me about four/five hours to get it right. But, in the end it's well worth it. Two things to note: in the above tutorial, they use the coveted Radioshack amp that's no longer available. Instead, use the inexpensive $12.99 one as shown here. And wire up a microphone inside your helmet like this... [/img]
  4. Outstanding. We'll get those droids some day.

    voice amp

I think the only way to go is to install the little train speakers in your aerators, run them to a small radioshack amp and mount a headset inside your helmet with all wires concelled. A very effiecent, elegant - yet effective way to have your voice project from the helmet in true movie fashion. You could add a static box, too, but the effect is so subtle I don't think it's worth $150.
  6. I'm all ready to go, signed up and have a place to stay Friday and Saturday nights. I'm not a volunteer, but I'll be in there in full TD glory!

    Ammo Pouch

I bought the Marstar ones, very happy with 'em. Chris (TK409) uses them, too.
  8. Greeting from the Maryland OLG. Here's all the goods: http://www.sandtrooper.net/mepd/require/ Cheers,
  9. Very true! The euphoria you get in armor can sometimes out-shadow your personal needs. The most time I ever spent in armor was eleven hours, and during the last four hours, I was drinking lots of beer!! While I survived no problem, the next day did hurt somewhat. Build your tolerance up, and drink lots of water!! You should also mod your armor to be as comfortable as possible for long tours of duty. While not realistic, I tend to to look at it like "what if this was a real job?" "What if I had to wear this stuff as my uniform?!" So I try to make mods to the armor that make it bearable for long periods of time.
  10. I don't know if this much of a story or not, but what the heck... Shoreleave 04, Baltimore MD. I'd been in armor for almost nine hours at this point, and been drinking beer for the previous two or three hours. The evening was winding down with the evening dance-thing. One other sandtrooper and I were the last one's standing still in armor at this point, and I was intoxicated enough to dance it up... with whom, I have no idea... how can you see in a stormtrooper helmet, right? Anyway, some of the other guys there were irking me to sex it up with some chick who was dressed like Slave Leia. Admittedly, she was not all that... what I might call a butterface... but I'll digress. Anyway, these guys asked her to dance with me so they could get lots of pictures. Her response was, "I'm not drunk enough yet." Another time we invaded a grocery store and did naughty things with produce.
  11. http://www.sci-fire.com/index.htm That's too bad because I was just about to order a E-11 mod kit, but I can get by regardless. It's also too bad that troopers won't be able to purchase great hyper-firm rubber replicas... glad I got my MG-34 when I did! Cheers! Mike TD-1536
  12. Haha...great story. That's the kind of stuff I like to hear about, not your latest toy find at WalMart.
  13. I'll be getting a hold of a few patches shortly and get back to you. Thanks and hello to the rest of the guys.
  14. Yeah, in order to keep it rather solid and to prevent it from moving around, I latched it permanently.
  15. Hello all, new here and reporting from the Maryland Old Line Garrison. Reporting for duty! Any info on attaining membership and acquiring a patch would appreciated. Thanks, Mike/TD-1536 __________________ http://www.tk1536.com
