  1. I bought an RT back when I didn't know a whole lot about TK bucket leanage... got it as my current FX helmet replacement. It's really not a bad helmet, nice to troop in because it's really solid and made of ABS. Mine has been beat to ****... I almost don't want to part with it because it's been so reliable.
  2. same kind I make... which I learned from Arturo (aka Seeker). I do like cog, though.
  3. Yeah, I really press upon n00bs to always start with an FX, because it really is a learning experience. I'll eventually part with mine, too, and it will be a bit sad, looking back on all the fond memories wearing it. But, better times ahead! Seth, PM details on the sale.
  4. Sweet! I'm stuck with bringing home the projector from work from time to time to watch movies in wall-size glory! I'm with you there, screw movie theaters... I need to pause the film when I gotta ****!
  5. Awesome job! I saw it in person and was really impressed. I recently acquired the hyper-firm one, and it's HUGE compared even to the MG-34. I need to find/make a strap now.
  6. Good show, guys!! We did an event at the Best Buy in White Marsh, MD last night, still waiting for pics.
  7. Listen to this guy, folks! All I did for the Hallowed eve was start painting my new hyper-firm Lewis Blaster.
  8. Here's some photos from an event the OLG and VA's Garrison Tyranus participated in. It was great to meet some fellow Sandtroopers from Richmond, VA... I'm sorry I forgot your names but it was good times. It was great to troop with you guys!!
  9. Welcome!! Sandtroopers get all the ladies. Plain vanilla Stormtroopers just don't cut it any more.
  10. I'm going to purchase those replica canvas MP-40 pouches and remove certain parts, add them to my Norweigian leather ones (shown above) to get them as close to the original as possible for the shoulder pouch. If I'm successful, I'll show you folks the results.
  11. I've had great success with the Rustoleum in the taller silver can, SKU# 7592. Dries very fast and the finish is smooth and durable. No aversion to the plastic fusing Krylon brand, but I thought the white when compared to the Rustoleum did not look as good. However, after some more thought and investigation, if you're going Sandtrooper, what does it matter.
  12. A lot of fun, isn't it?? I should be having some fun over the next few months, too. Having around a second clean kit is always good for when the required uniform is "Clean, white TKs" at certain social functions. It's a shame, though... because Sandtroopers get all the attention.
  13. Oh ****, TAKE COVER!!!! No ****....quick, someone take this discussion over to the RPF! Stat!!
  14. I have the Norwegian green MP-40 pouches, but dyed black. I would really, almost kill for the original leather MP-40 pouch with the extra 'loader' pouch, but they're virtually impossible to find. Perhaps Braksbuddy has horded them all?? Seeker Arturo says that he's taken the Norwegian one and modified it to look like the original. Anyone else been able to pull this off??
  15. Thanks Josh... all help and work is highly appreciated!!
  16. Matt, If you check this - what grey color did you use as the under coat before masking and painting it white? I'm going to do the same thing on my next one, totally authentic! I might even try to mimic the exact same weathering and paint chip patterns as the 'Move Along' helmet recently discovered.
  17. You got my email today. I hope to be doing the happy dance in a few weeks. - Mike 1536
  18. While I don't own one, it's still essentially assembled like a TE, or an original. The face goes inside, or under the back piece, and the lip of the forehead is then what the brow piece slides on to.
  19. And even more pictures... http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/moonpie1861/...hEtQ1DBx3zuRRPY
  20. I found some more elephant pics from that day... and how can I resist.
  21. Seth actually lives a hour or two away from me, too. We've shared a few beers at C3 and Shoreleave (a local Sci-fi con). The above event is a annual thing that goes on during the Fall on the weekends. This was the last weekend and we were encouraged to come out and stir up some trouble. It was a an awesome time. The weather was about 60 degrees or so, so yeah, there were some chilly drafts in the nether regions. I guess you could say I'm the Garrison's main party animal and rock star.
  22. naw...too uncomfortable, and they wouldn't let us bring our weapons in either. Here's more pics... http://homepage.mac.com/mikeharrison/PhotoAlbum43.html
