  1. Hmmm.... I think I can take some pictures. BRB...
  2. I will not run again in 2010 and will step down regardless of election outcome. I've served the MEPD as best I can since 2005 and am ready to see things taken over by a new generation. I strongly encourage anyone who's enthusiastic and dedicated to the Legion to step up try their hand at Detachment leadership. As always, when a transition takes place, I'll personally make sure the new staff understands what's required of them as well as all the technical responsibilities to run and manage the forum/web site. If you have any questions of me or the staff, feel free to ask anytime.
  3. I had found the original, working switches on ebay back in 2006, bought about a hundred of them to go out with the radios we were making at the time. Earlier this year when I started working on the super-detailed Sonix radio I could not source them anymore. There are some similar ones online but they aren't exact. As for the two smaller knobs, you can find some at Radio shack, but I think they're too tall. When I molded them up and made casts, I only filled the mold half-way.
  4. Bloody nice!! Real cistern and all!
  5. The Boy Scout frames are hollow and easy to bend by hand, using a heavy rubber mallet. You have to be careful though, too much bend and a "fold" or "crease" will develop. To overcome that, some folks in my garrison have filled them with sand, then bent them.
  6. I don't have any pictures. I always seem to take pictures after I've cut them up. Sorry.
  7. Charlie, When we spoke the other night, did the tips I relayed work out for you? Here's a picture that helps show the optimal connection points for the cistern. Regardless, nice build!!! http://gallery.mac.com/mikeharrison/100129...F0009_2/web.jpg
  8. yeah, more eating and drinking while ogling everyone's new toys.
  9. In all seriousness, someone in the Garrison basically has a party or cookout at their house and invites everyone over to share in camaraderie and help folks with new costumes, projects, etc. At a recent party I met a new guy who bought a ATA kit, so I got to see that for the first time and trim it up with a Dremel. At least at our parties, there's plenty of food and beer.
  10. Heavy drinking, debauchery, loose women and TONS of recasting. Very little work gets done.
  11. Zenix is working with Charlie and myself, met him for the first time at a recent armor party. Because of all all the drama with the previous Sonix radio project that John and I worked on, I encouraged him to start from scratch. If Charlie wants to pull them in HIPS, he could but the details would be no where like what you see in that picture. I still maintain the only way to fabricate these correctly is in urethane resin, which becomes impractical due to cost and weight. I still have all my original Sonix Radio molds, collecting dust.
  12. I should be there sometime between noon and one.
  13. I have cracks galore on my set of armor. I usually just cover the rip with some Devcon and back that with an extra piece of plastic.
  14. That was really cool, and I'm really surprised that there wasn't a more concerted effort to keep those props more consistent. But alas, I guess that's just how Hollywood works.
  15. Nice, I'll have to pick that up.
  16. Welcome and happy trooping.
  17. Have fun!! Wish I could be there partying with the troops.
