  1. i think i'm going to see what i can do about that ejection port this evening. hopefully i'll have some good pics to show off later
  2. i was looking at that manual last night my safety switch also doesn't work. i haven't decided yet if i'm going to tackle modifying it or not yet.
  3. so it looks like your sterling is also missing the bolt entirely. any thoughts on what you're going to do to fill in the space? in mine, you san see straight through to the magazine... i was thinking that i could either: - buy a bolt from ima-usa.com and try to cut it down to fit in through the mag opening - cut a piece of PVC pipe to do the same, and put foil tape on it. i'll probably do the latter, since it will look more like what i think of when i picture a stormtrooper rifle.
  4. waiting is the hardest part! i'm waiting on some of that too. my thought on that was to cut the length i want, starting where the clip inserts into the gun, and leaving an extra 1/8th or so beyond that. then bend the edges out with some pliers or something, so that the endcap can slide back onto it the way it does now. then take the spring, cut it down quite a bit, and put the whole thing back together. the question there is how hard will it be to bend the metal? to get around that, i'm thinking i might make my first cut right in the middle, so that i have both ends of it to work with. that way, if it's harder than it looks, i can come up with a plan b.
  5. how do you increment the numbers on them? i'd like to steal your idea and set mine to 7602 before i put it all together. i've got the hengstler and scope, and am picking up my sterling on sunday!!!
  6. i've been on the lookout for these too... latest on the RPF is still "unknown". i ended up getting a rubber replica part from a guy over there. on a side note - my hengstler arrived today! :-D
  7. sometimes i wonder why we have so many forums for the same 5 people to have the same conversation on
  8. so how is that all attached? having it forward like that makes sense. then there's less chance of the thigh whacking it.
  9. that happened to my knee plate recently too. i think i see why they changed the style of knee plates to the TK ones!
  10. i don't know about the seller or quality, but it looks great in the pics.
  11. nice! i *just* scored one from a garrison-mate that was not going to do anythign with it. i wish i could help with a source, but he just had the 1.
  12. i think the MR display cases are great for showing off your favorite blaster, but i don't see myself ever getting the blaster itself. one of my friends troops with one sometimes. it's really really heavy. nice looking, but as others have said not accurate to what we think of as an E-11. i've currently got an MR case and a hyperfirm E-11.
  13. which reminds me... i really need to get going on mine!
  14. i'm 5'9" and my AP suit fit with no trimming anywhere. i think it depends as much on build / proportions as just height (long torso and short legs would fit very differently than long torso and short legs)
  15. i've always been a bit put off by pooptroopers. my armor is real dirty when you see it up close, but often in pics it washes out to where i just look like a different color than the TKs. but i sanded all of the gloss out of my AP suit, so if that's not commitment, i don't know what is!
  16. i left my mg-15 behind at my last troop, and went with the HF E-11 instead. in the new year, i'm hoping to get an MG-34 from the same folks that made the E-11. they mentioned that they will be selling stuff on ebay in the coming weeks, as things are ready to ship. one of my garrison-mates just got his E-11 that way, and it arrived in a matter of days.
  17. i used a piece of welding shield cut into a single "uni-lens". it's attached in the center and the 2 far corners: it's hot-glued in, with tape in the center just in case the glue pops out on me. i left gaps all around the edges to help reduce fogging.
  18. wow, that's a sweet looking mg-15! 350 for the kit seems pretty reasonable given the size and complexity. i'll be watching for that mepd run
  19. i wear my normal underwear under the diveskin.
  20. i haven't had my first TD troop yet. i was boba fett for a parade last weekend, and will be fett again at a wedding reception on friday night. 2 weekends from now will be my first time in the TD, outside of my house.
  21. wow... i sold my FX armor with a GF2 helmet and E-11 for $400 to a member of my garrison. i should have just ebayed that stuff and made a couple grand!
  22. thanks for the help guys! my grand plans for an awesome scratchbuild are getting pushed back by other demands, so at least this way my not-at-all-accurate one can be made a bit better!
  23. $75 doesn't sound unreasonable at all. I'd be up for a nice looking pauldron.
  24. i was hoping there'd be something less fuzzy out there than the screencaps i've seen. i guess i've gotten spoiled by all of the high-res pics that are floating around of so many other props
  25. i thought for about 12 seconds about hunting down real ones. i'm going to stick to the sub hunt game for now. $20 and some white spraypaint works for me
