  1. I do have this one...not the full Helo, but more of it...
  2. No, sorry. It's a UH-60 Blackhawk, though.
  3. I got them from Anthony (Blaster 8266): http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=10805
  4. Finally got around to posting up some Troop pics... First troop was at the National Adoption Day event...didn't get any pics for that one, though. Second troop was the Arizona National Guard Muster and Expo (the Jawa is my 11 year old daughter) : This past weekend the Dune Sea Garrison marched in the Fiesta Bowl Parade in downtown Phoenix (Yeah, my shoulder pouch is crooked) :
  5. What I did is sized them in a taper towards the knees. I glued them (as you did), and put a coverstrip on. They are snug but not tight. I can get my foot (without boot) through them. When I dress out, I start with the thighs: I slip them on and leave them at my shins so I can get my boots on (can't bend my legs right in place). Once the boots are on, I slide the thighs into place and then put the shins on. Works for me.
  6. The configurations in the Pinned Thread(s) are for SWAT approval. For Deployed (Police Officer) approval, the requirements for "screen accurate" (i.e. pouch and weapon selection, pauldron color, and weathering detail) are not as stringent. For Deployed, you must meet the construction details and be weathered "appropriately" (i.e. Color vs. specific pattern). Hope this helps.
  7. I have 2 of the Hunter 1000 that I found on Ebay. Looks like you found where they come from.
  8. I haven't tried it on armor, but you may be able to do the same exact thing with good mineral spirits. I'd test it on scrap ABS for compatibility, but you'll be happier wiping it off and starting over than painting over the mistakes with white. I took another look at your pics and I can see how you tried to "cut down" the blue with white. It invariably won't match the plastic and in this case, the blue is showing through anyway. Lucky for us, a little "dirt" can hide any mistakes!
  9. What kind of paint did you use? If you used an acrylic, rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or whatever will wipe it off easily. No painting over required. I had to redo mine a couple of times before I remembered the old model-building trick with the mask.
  10. Might be too late but did you start your tube stripe painting with white? It will seal the mask so the follow up blue won't bleed.
  11. Yes, the idea behind SWAT is to portray (as best as possible) an actual on-screen Sandtrooper. To look like you popped out of the screen, so to speak. The easiest thing to do is to browse the approved SWAT applications for the trooper you want to emulate. Another, even better way is to analyze screenshots from the movie.

  13. Wow, it's definitely that canteen! I never saw that close-up of a pic before. You are absolutely right about the chain holder, too. I can't tell if it's wishful thinking, a light trick, or is the "groove" for the strap intact in the reference pic? It even looks like the mounting bracket sits in there. That would also make me think the texture is still there (if it was on the original canteen). Why would they fill the texture but leave the groove?
  14. Hi all. I just realized I have been lurking a lot and posting some but haven't properly introduced myself. My name is Kevin and I live in Arizona, USA. I'm new to the 501st and working on a TD. Unfortunately I bought some armor locally that appears to be recast (TE2?) But I've got my name on the ATA list so I'll get some practice. I'm just about done with my build, just working on the belts and need to finisb up the weathering. Hopefully I can get my legion ID here soon!
  15. Why can't you view the for sale section? I'm not even a 501st member yet and I can? Can you PM? PM Retnuhha. They look pretty sweet! Available in English and Aurebesh.
  16. Man, I'm not finding these either. I've tried both online and local. Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, Tru-Value. Nothing. Found one on Ebay that looked right. Cost $10 so I thought it must be the old style (new ones go for less than $4 EVERYWHERE)....nope, pyramid. I even bought a bunch of balsa in hopes of carving one up. Decided my skills are too weak for that, given the curves and radii and whatnot. Hopefully someone can come up with another option....soon!!!
