  3. TD-4935

    hehmm

    i missed that avatar
  4. it looks like luke lost his hengstler and cylinders. you can see marks that look like lines of glue.
  5. i love the fact that because you're anonymous you can exagerate your own personality and come out approach people with immense confidence. i also like the exagerated mime movements to express yourself without speaking. great fun
  6. Us UKG boyos never ever ever take the lid off unless we're in an area away from the public. we're never allowed to surrender our weapon and everything is Imperial business. period. it's great hearing some of the things that get said to kids asking the gun question. "i didn't go through the imperial training facility to give my weapon over to a rebel sir" or "this weapon is bigger than you sir, i can't allow it to fall into the hands of a jawa" the little ones that cry, we simply walk away only to find that five minute later they're kicking our shins. the best one for me is approaching a mum with a couple of kids in a pram and asking "how long have you had these droids ma'am?" if all else fails everything is "imperial business" One of our bikers was asked where his speeder was, to which he replied "in the parking lot with all the other speeders sir" only for a TK to approach and say "actually it was stolen by an Ewok" the kids don't quite know what to ask once the inter imperial bickering starts
  7. i roughed up my TK to emulate the movie look a little. i used the sole of my boots and rubbed them on all raised areas. i also never clean it after a troop so there is some acumulative muck. i personally prefer to look a like i've seen better days and not fresh out of the quarter masters/armoury.
  8. I guess the reason he covets these things and gets so irate about it is because he knows that anybody with a little digging and "healthy" interest in it could also indeed call themselves "trooper expert". He sounds to me like someone who is in the throws of a complete breakdown. As Mr-T quite eloquantly put it "I pity the fool".
  9. Hey BB, feel free to send him "The Winner". I think he's ready for it.
  10. tell me about it. i've been scraping a living with music for years. still, gotta love it
  11. i have seen "artists" render a famous painting to an almost uncanny point of exactness but were unable to use that skill to produce an original piece of the same quality. on the other hand you have artists who are conceptual, thinkers and ideas men who may not quite have the same skill as the "forger" when it comes to the practical application of painting. This is why many people don't understand modern art today. It is far more concept driven, artistic metaphors, stretches of imagination that doesnt utilise traditional skill. obviuosly there are those out there that utilise both to great effect and that is why they are legitimately succesful in their field. i was having this debate over on BSN about the Lancer requirements. some people were saying that to achieve the higher standards may not be possible to those not skilled in the craft department. if they have managed to get 501st clearance thus far then they have the skills to take it to the next level and maybe "learn" some new skills. the armour/helmet makers had utilised their "talent" to produce the armour, the guy putting it together is utilising his skill as a hobbyist/craftsmen. you don't just turn off your skill when finished, you move to the next level but talent is in the blood. no amount of teaching or practice will ever surpass natural talent. making my backpack gained me new skills and enhanced my abilities to experiment with ideas. i wouldn't say it was a talent. my next pack would be easier and maybe turn out better thanks to the experience of the first. this whole hobby is based around skill and talent, from the most basic to the most extreme. i bloody love it
  12. good man, see ya there. i'll be the one in white
  13. and he doesn't start crying when people aren't saying he's an armor God.(even though he is a rather talented chap and deserves all the kudos IMHO).
  14. yep, me too. you can never have too many massive blasters, as my old Mum used to say.
  15. Yeah, don't make me post the picture again, i've never seen it needing to be used twice . What is the beef ? can someone explain why the teddy has been thrown out of the pram? this appeares to be a case of sour grapes over who is winning the "oneup-manship" contest. do the kids at the Cons and events give a toss? No. So i say again. whats the beef? Michel Winner is poised and ready
  16. o.k. you all asked for it.
  17. thats a bummer, i wanted to shake you by the hand
  18. that is a very good idea. i've done this with my band before. sending merch over before hand. i would worry the whole time though. i shall look into this further. thanks Rob
  19. You wanna talk to TD4063, Tony Krewson. i believe he is the Man in the know here. over to you Tony....
  20. Hey Mike, C4 @ GenCon(?) in L.A. is in May and Celebration Europe @ Excel in London is July so i get to go to both i've been chatting with one or two people about the BFG. It's still not a guarenteed method but apparently, as long as you declare you are carrying a "plastic/wood/resin prop/toy gun" it may be do-able. have you traveled by air (domestic or otherwise) with your pack. if so what did you transport it in? see you in May (hopefully)
  21. Well i've booked my flights, registered and purchased passes and am now poor beyond belief. There are a number of us going to this so it will be a UKG outing of sorts. i would truly love to bring the TD but am a bit unsure about transporting the gear, mainly the back pack and the BFG. If any of you seasoned pros have any advice on this i would appreciate it cos this may be an opportunity not to be missed. i'd feel ashamed meeting all you guys in the clean stuff is there gonna be a mass MEPD photo situation?
  22. velcro, glue, screws and avoiding little old ladies!
  23. i was gonna say "skew wiff" which is how my Mum used to describe my school tie if it was "wonky". didn't think anyone would know what that meant for sure.
  24. now THAT is a big frackin' gun. looks like you've got a knee plate problem there buddy, looks a bit "wonky", unstable. great weathering, nice and subtle, you wear it well sir.
  25. you gotta love that 6 degrees of seperation stuff man. someone somewhere must know someone who knows the stuff we want to know, if you know what i mean?
