  1. unfortunately i'll be TK clean at C4 but i'm well up for meeting you all so i'll maybe rub a bit of muck on my gleaming white armour specially
  2. I am totally loving your work dude. AWSOME!!
  3. Top job as usual Mike everytime i see one of those beautifull helmets it makes me want to do one too.
  4. Ian my old mucker, how the devil are you? good to see you in the sandpit at last.
  5. Not so far chaps. i think he's been busy with the old "real life thing". he's trooping this weekend but i'll see if i can pin him down some time next week. i just did a troop at the StarWars Expo in London and got some photos of the real prop so this should help him pin it down.
  6. now that we have a complete object to look at for reference (rather than thinking about individual parts as before), i'm thinking about sculpting the "siphon" in two halves and vac-forming it. although Mike has done a magnificent job of fabricating some of the individual parts i thought that if this piece could be done as a whole (or in two halves and put together) it would make it all a little more stable. I know mine keeps coming apart with travel stress so i'd also like to make it easier to take off so may design some sort of bracket system to intergrate into it. if anybody else feels like taking up the challenge, amongst us there are some amazingly talented people, then maybe we could stop raiding peoples toilets
  7. got it today. i feel certain this will keep me happy for some time. there's a lovely little bit from Mark Hamill about not being able to sit down in the armour and freaking out with the lid on. but then i guess he probably had to be in it non stop for hours on end.
  8. go to any council housing estate that was built in the late 60's/early 70's here in the u.k. and i bet there are toilets there that still havent been upgraded or replaced. i'd like to see you try and acquire the bits though. you probably wouldn't come out alive.
  9. the foam star, although used in the movie lids, doesn't really hold the lid on your melon very well. My SDS came with it and it kinda sits on your head with no side grippage so kinda wobbles around like a bobble head. it also meant my eyes were looking into bottom ridge of the eye holes. i've now used a combination of foam strips and knee pads covered in a non slip matting. s'well comfy and i can see out the eye holes now
  10. you know you guys are always welcome to come and check out our toilets (ya wierdos )
  11. i'm gonna find a ribbed top that matches as close as possible to the CGI and modify an existing Unitard by sewing on ribbed material where it will be exposed i.e. knees, elbows and crotch region. Actually i'll probably just modify around the crotch and knee area and wear a ribbed top half.
  12. i think thats added a nice touch there matey. sometimes mistakes can end up being a God send.
  13. O.K. gang. as i'm acting as middle man i shall try to be as organised and quick with responses as possible however at the moment i'm still waitnig on details from the maker of these little beauties. as soon as all pricing details are with me i'll post em up here and start an interest list.
  14. I've been hanging round with the Welsh contingent of the UKG for too long, it's rubbed off. i'm still celtic though. Scottish, ginger and ever so slightly unhinged. Isn't IT?
  15. I'll get some better pics up when i get home from work. I agree on the length issue as well.
  16. One of my Garrison buddys has made some macrobinocs and given me the first one gratis to give it the once over. He may make some more if people are interested. they are Vac formed main body, and various hardware store gubbins for added Shwing. i like how they look. what do you boyos think? If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. thanks for looking
  17. i think humbrol were bought out by another modelling company, maybe hornby or something like it and the new company is gonna keep the paint lines open, at least i think they are. Humbrol being a British institution it would be a shame to see it go.
  18. i put a snap on the pouch and one on the backpack strap, simple, highly effective. the canvass pouch loops on the back are angled so when slid onto the strap it sits on the chest and the shoulder bell nicely. the snap just holds it in place
  19. i used E6000 on every part of the armour that required glue. as long as you roughen each surface and apply a thin layer to each surface it sticks just fine. All the butted and stripped parts were sandwiched (i glued a strip on the inside also) to help with outward pressure and avoid parts pinging apart. the good thing about E6000 is that if you get any squidging out when clamping, once its dry you can kind of peel it off and it leaves no residue. so far none of my parts have ever failed. what is important is patience. you need to leave it for at least 48 hours. 72 hours if you can, just to make sure. it wont warp your armour or melt it if you slip up.
  20. Still trying to organise gear transportation. if the sandy looks to be too expensive to take (it could cost me an extra couple hundred quid ) i might have to TK it. will let you know as soon as i figure it out. i'd still love to hook up for a beer or two though either way
  21. Congrats dude, well deserved. it's a great feeling getting the number
  22. Harry, that is outstanding work dude. very cool, very very cool. i'm super impressed with your weathering. I've only redone mine three times. looks like i may have to go for number four to match yours.
