  1. I got mine here: http://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/sep/8049 I have rubber ones too, but the nomex work kinda well in the Arizona heat.
  2. Doopydoos is UK based isn't he? http://www.doopydoos...plicas-31-c.asp Never seen one up close for detail comparison, but I read alot of people raving about the quality of his product *shrugs* But those 2 sources are the only ones I heard a bunch of good reviews for to be honest.
  3. I believe DLT-19s T-21s and E-11s would all be suitable for any rank honestly...Doopy doo's are great from what I have been reading, and I think he is UK based? I love my Hyperfirm DLT, the detailing is fantastic, and they are great folks to do business with.
  4. Don't think you'll be disappointed, have fun weathering
  5. shipping may be pricey from Trooperbay, but I think it is worth it. The amount you get is enough to weather, I would guess 2-3 suits (I was skeptical of this when I saw the size of the packages) Once I started playing with it, it really goes a long way. The results are not questionable. I also used unsanded grout (powder) in the color linen (light yellowish tan). cigar and firepit ash, for some varying greys.
  6. TD-44835 Dune Sea Garrison, respectfully requesting access
  7. Just got my Legion ID today, and wanted to thank everyone here that contributes to this wealth of information. You guys have made this project a truely gratifying experience... Bravo zulu!
  8. I believe that should be Brake d'windu Everyone know an apostrophe makes the name far more "Star Warsy"
  9. Mine doesn't move around much, but it does tend to flare up too much in the back...been thinking about putting some Velcro on it to keep it down on the back plate.
  10. I just bought a DLT-19 from them...I sent a message to Lewis (slavefive) over at FISD. I think I bought his last one before he took a break for a bit, but I would certainly send him a message.
  11. Here is the suit...it's not "SWAT", but it is my first ever endeavor, hopefully it will get me basic clearance, and I want to get out there and play:
  12. I personally liked the way the Citadel Purity Coat (mat) finish looks. I figure it like this...after years of deployment in a place like Tatooine, nothing is going to stay "shiny"...I looked at cars in a junkyard as my inspiration spending long amounts of time in the sun and wind, with frequent dust storms (Arizona).
  13. I almost bought one of his suits, my wife saved me when she told me no...then I stumbled on this site to find that I almost made a huge mistake
  14. Think I'm going iComm for cost and availability, hear lots of good things about it, and Jim has a strong reputation for outstanding customer service...very important to me.
  15. Actually I'm not using any paint. I buffed the entire suit with Scotchbrite to dull the surface down, then I based everything with hairspray, and unsanded grout (linen color), rubbed off the excess with a dry paper towel. gave the whole suit a moderate rubdown with ashes from my fire pit, to give a little variation to the basecoat color, and let it set up for 24 hours. Then I gave it a little highlighting with the brown and grey Fullers Earth from Trooperbay, blended with a damp towel, and scotchbrite. It's currently sealed with Citedel Purity seal (because I like the finish) If that doesn't hold up well to the trooping I may need to Krylon mat finish it. I really didn't want it to look excessivly dirty, but rather wanted something more "windblown", or "sandblasted" dirtied up from desert deployment...Kinda wanted the insiration to be more the look of cars that have been sitting in a scrapyard for an extended period. Thank you for the inputs...I tend to be critical of my work.
  16. Thought I would post a pic of my first attempt at weathering...open for critique. Be gentle
  17. couldn't you just paint over the old with the new, and add your stripes?
  18. New DLT came in the mail today...it is beautiful...and I promised I wouldn't cry
  19. Thanks again guys! guess Fullers earth from Trooperbay it is then
  20. Also great to know, thank you
  21. cool...thanks for the info once again Smoke
  22. Does anyone know a good place to buy Fullers earth stateside (preferably near Phoenix, AZ)? I know Trooperbay sells some, but I would like to find it in larger quantities and color variety...Also how does grout compare? Thanks in advance
  23. He told me that he needs a couple days before it's ready to go, but will ship this week. It was $350 including shipping from SoCal to Phoenix. He does seen to be a really great guy, been a pleasure dealing with him.
