  1. Congratulations bro, amazing looking suit :-) Really liked the weathering on your lid, especially the areas under the chin that look worn away. Great stuff :-)
  2. Phew. I did have a bit of a panic. This forum has become my daily ritual. Love it on here :-)
  3. Thanks Dave. T-21 be with ya soon for weathering my friend :-)
  4. Got my large size T shirt today. Looks and fits great. Just waiting on Neil's (Elegance's) medium size shirt I ordered along with it. Should be a couple of weeks for that I reckon :-)
  5. Hi buddy. I know I'm not SWAT, but I added the painted black CD to my backpack for Police Officer Deployment and worked great. I had to cut out the middle of the CD by cutting lots of little slots with just a hacksaw blade and bending out the little sections with a pair of pliers. I recommend doing this first, as the CD is quite brittle and cracks easily. As I found out with the first one I lovingly sprayed 2 coats either side on before cracking it removing the middle section , doh!! I think i got through 2 or 3 CD's before getting the middle section out without damage, Ha ha :-) Good luck bro, great looking armour :-)
  6. Great looking pauldron bro. My orange pauldron came nicely weathered but I have a black one I new to get working on. :-)
  7. Thanks bro's, can't tell you how worried I was starting this job. But I absolutely loved doing it and would have happily started another one straight away after I finished this one , ha ha :-) Great choice of weathering Pat ;-)
  8. Thanks Rick, appreciate that coming from you buddy :-)
  9. Hi all. Just a few pics and details of my first ever weathering job on my brand new RS armour - gulp!! Even though I cleared UKG and got Police Officer deployment no problem, I still felt that the weathering that RS supplied my kit with was pretty light overall, compared to some of the great looking troopers I see on here. And after looking back at my induction and first troop photos from last weekend, I didn't like the fact I was almost blending with TK's in certain shots. So I decided to make the big decision to weather it myself. I read all the different ways you guys have done yours on here, and decided to go with the Raw Umber paint method. I mixed up a 1:1 diluted mix of paint and water and used that as an overall undercoat for each section of armour, painted on with a brush and then dabbed off with a rag in a circular motion. When it had dried a little more, I rubbed it to remove sections of it and repeated, this time almost flicking and whipping the rag at the paint on the armour. When I was happy with the randomness of the effect, I added pure Raw Umber to the creases on the armour where sand would naturally collect for a darker effect. I dabbed this off with a damp rag to add a 'smudginess' to make it blend more with the undercoat. I'm very happy with how my armour looks now, definitely has a more Tatooine trooped in look and one that I can't wait to troop with again in a couple of weeks. Here's my armour as it was originally from RS, and underneath as it is now. :-) Started with the boots. Brushed on the diluted undercoat Rubbed it in with rag Applied neat Raw Umber and worked in to get a dirty look. I wanted the boots and bottom of shin armour to be my darkest looking areas to simulate standing around in sand and dirt :-) Contrast between newly weathered boots and original shins Looking better Applied to more bits of armour in the same way Showing everything weathered except chest,ab plate, back and helmet for contrast And then fully weathered all over :-)
  10. Sweet indeed. Looks great up there :-)
  11. Thanks Marcus, appreciate it bro. Definitey got to get a troop going on soon :-)
  12. Completely agree Marcus. I cannot fault their product and I am so happy with my armour. Like you say, they need one extra pair of hands :-)
  13. Yep , you win Brad. Very nice signed shirt indeed :-)
  14. Don't worry Neil buddy, you'll be the first to know when it arrives :-)
  15. Exactly that Mathias. The guy I've been speakin with at RS said the same to me. A lot of people imagine they're a massive company but it's him, Rob, Simon an d a fibre glass guy in the workshop and Rob's wife handling emails, but she juggles that with looking after their boys who have been I'll lately. He said it's no excuse for less than efficient contact with people and they know it 's an area they have to improve on buy they are literally run off their feet. Anyway, I'm just glad I could be of some help to my bro's on here in getting some response or an order being posted now. Craig :-)
  16. Good news Jay. We need to post photos of all our shirts once they finally arrive :-)
