  2. WOW! I testfitted torso+arms+bucket today. I didnt think it's THAT uncomfortable!!! ^^ my chin is hitting the chest piece everytime i move my head. Impossible to look down to Look where i am going or even see my steps.... Also found some issues, pics will follow!!!

Wow! I like that. Could you explain how you did this a little bit more specific? Would love to check this out and maybe use this method for my sandy
  4. ___________________ Thanks! Yeah i think if i take off the return edge of the bells it would a ) give it more flexibility and b ) gives a little more room to put it on and let it move around a little when i move my arm/shoulder and so it's not a stuck as it is right now so i can shorten the straps. Sounds like a plan to me!!! I did not know that there was no return edge on the shoulders but i double checked and you are totally right! Thanks dude! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/image/855-shoulderarmorcomparion5jpg/ This will maybe solve all my problems! btw: It just feels like the ATA shoulder bells are TINY!!! Anyone experienced the same thing or is it just me? I can only judge from pictures of other makers armors so maybe i am wrong.
  5. Here you go buddies, that's where i am right now... i finished the arms, everything is put together. Still concerned about the bells. Everything is pretty tight, maybe i gonna "open" the bells a little bit more... This is the idea i came up with for the strapping. I hate sewing and working with snaps so i just glued it after i did this: And it goes right here: And the AB And finally...!!!!... First fitting test: What do you guys think? To me it looks like i really should tighten up the shoulder to make it come closer to the armor/chest... Yup,.. that's it for now. AH! One more thing: I don't know why but most of the pictures in the thread are gone. Is it just my computer or do you guys also miss the pictures of the first few pages?
  6. That Sounds very very strange. Not bad. Just weird. I hope it turns out good! Dude, do you have the source of the "gungan Spoiler"? I love spoilers and just cant stay away from it so i would really like to read the stuff myself. Could you let me know?
  7. The pics aren't really good but i think you get an idea: With the biceps it's even harder because the bell is actually pretty small so i have to pull it over the biceps and so the gap gets even bigger. I don't know if a shorter strap (the one that attaches the bell to the shoulder strap) would make sense because the biceps kinda pouches it away from the body. Hard to explain but i hope you understand what i am talking about. Maybe i should consider reshaping the bell (thats what i did to make it look more like in the movies. now i see it didn't make any sense)... and here is the thing i use for the strapping for chest/ab. Thanks for checking out my build
  8. finally got some e-6000 and got some time to work on my armor. I am now in the process of the strapping system. I decided to go the easiest way you could image. Glue. How i already said, i am no craftmen-guy and also i do not really have fun in trying to be one. I came up with a simple system for the chest/ab so i can adjust size/lenth of the straps that i will just glue into the armor just like they did with luke's armor (i do not remember where i got this information but i am sure i saw some pictures of the straps just glued in). First i thought about snaps but i could not really figure out why i'd need snaps. Snaps just make it possible to remove the cords/elastics. I think i won't need to remove them. I will post pics as soon as possible. So for now i did some test fitting and continued on the thighs. I am not really sure but it seems like i should try to get the shoulder bells closer to the body. I will post pics soon as well. So nothing big going on right now, just wanted to let you guys know i am still alive and working on the kit!
  9. Really? How do you know? I don't think JJ is going to do that because he knows that this Is way to dangerous. It's code red. It's difficult and can ruin the film. Also, the "oldschool/OT" fans will just be mad as **** no matter if it adds to the story or Is made in a good way.. As soon as one gungan will be shown, this movie has thousands of haters within a second!
  10. Hayden Christensen, gungans, .. These two things would make me freak out..!
  11. This is great! I already own a rs. It's just beautiful!!!... nice xmas present
  12. I'm back! no glue, no more rivets, work like ****... I wont be able to go on building for a few days.
  13. Hey guys! Last couple days were busy cause of the whole pre-vacation stress and thats the reason i had no chance to post any pictures. This build will be stopped for 3 weeks cause i am going on a route 66 roadtrip and have a stop in Vegas for some gambling action! Will be continued when i am back home, troopers! SeeYa!!!
  14. I have no idea what size. They look like the same size... 1000 words cant tell what one picture can. As soon as i get home i'll post a picture..!
  15. Oh and... I dont know if i explained it correct. I am talking about the snap where you attach the shoulder bell..
  16. Oh really? Wow... Okay so you think it'll be just fine, right? Have you ever had to redo or fix it?
  17. Yesterday i put the snaps onto the inside of the shoulder straps. I saw most of you guys sewed the snaps but i wonder if e6000 will be enough. I first cut out a square out of a strap and glued the snap on. Then i put the "snap on the strap" to the elastic shoulder strap. Anyone ever tried this? I wonder if i need to support it with sewing.
  18. I had a day off today so i had some time to continue my build. It slowly comes together and i am very excited and actually pretty happy with the result so far. Here you go: I started with the hooks on the biceps. I figured out that i need to trim the return edge a little bit more... Then i started forming the hooks. Used a hairdryer, worked perfectly! step by step i put them under cold water to cool them off and they turned out like this: Glue After that i glued the elastics to the inside of the forearm. Nice weather today so i went outside and punched some holes.. And put the straps to the kidney.. Then i finished the connection but no picture of that unfortunately. After putting it together i had to notice that the elastics were too long. I test fitted both parts very accurate but in the end it was a little bit too big. I already have a idea to fix that and also leave the option to undo the fix if i get fat. So this is how the shoulder+biceps look like: And last step for today was the shoulder straps: Any thoughts? Anything i can do better or any big mistakes i overlooked? Thanks for reading guys! Seeya
  19. Just a quick question. I could not find a good picture to see where the straps for the forearms are placed. I know its glued/a snap from the biceps to the forearm but where exactly should i place the straps? I think it should be the inner side of the biceps but i wanted to make sure on that.. Anyone? Thanks in advance!!!
  20. so last night i did some research and watched ANH frame to frame and made some screenshots. I found the ATA shoulder bells a little bit too clean and straight after seeing these scenes: and a shot from a original used shoulder So i heated up water and carefully reshaped the shoulders a little tiny bit: i also put the straps to the shoulder and yes, after i did that i realized that i am supposed to glue both to the back plate and put a snap for one strap to the chest piece. I will either rip it off or put the snap on the backplate. Depends, if i can reach the snap on the inside of the back piece i will just let it stick as it is right now. If not, i will re-do the straps. i started on the thighs as well: Sloooowly i get tired of the glueing process. Because of the lack of enough clamps it takes forever. I am so looking forward to my weathering! Thnaks for checking out my build! Let me know what you think..
  21. Just a quick update. I am still in the glueing process. I just glued strips on the both left-side parts of the shin. Luckily i used E6000 so i could ripp one off. I had trouble with the left biceps as well because the parts were pretty sloping. Hard to glue, i will see how it turned out tonight. Found some strapping parts on amazon and ordered it right away. I am going to check the materials and snaps to see if i can work with it. Hopefully i can start with the strapping later next week. Thanks to everyone for help and advice! I now decided not to go screen accurate with the strapping. I will probably use snaps and elastics. See ya!
  22. Looks good. What maker is the armor from?
  23. I am not aiming for swat. I think the (quote) "maximum external accuracy+maximum durability and comfort" plus "first armor i wanna make it easy" is my goal. I think i will do the snap strapping. It just seems to be much easier (remember i am no good in craftsmenship) and no aiming for swat. What about the rivets? I searched for the correct sizes for rivets and buttons (atleast the parts you can see when its worn) but could not find anything.
  24. Hey guys! Just a little update. After realizing that the hangover i had in the morning the past few days came from the e6000 i bought this: i got really dizzy and my stomach didn't feel too good after a night of working with the e6000. This helps so much and i highly suggest everyone to use something like this while working with glue! First test fitting after i roughly trimmed all the parts. Actually... i just wanted to see how the torso would look like... Here you see how i did the forearm. I slowly run out of magnets because almost all of them are broken now.. After a little bit of sanding it looked like this. I am actually very happy with the results so far..! Today i filled the little gaps with more glue. Biceps almost done, more trimming needed: And this is what i am waiting for right now. I thought its gonna be more of a pain but glueing the shin wasn't as bad as i expected it to be.. I now must get all the rivets and buttons and straps and so on. I looked online today but i couldn't find any good stuff. Any germans here that can give me some tips where to get the "soft parts"? Still a lot to do. I haven't decided what strapping system i wanna go for. Screen accurate is great but its also harder to make and much more risky, especially the connection between the chest+ab and back+kidney+butt. What do you guys think? Thanks for checking out my build!!! I am so excited for the best part: the weathering! This is gonna be fun..
